Exclamation Upgrade/Changes : Private Messaging & Member Privacy

Hello everyone, Upgrades to the boards software have been completed.

The following changes have been made:

Private Messenging:

- Private messages can be sorted and filtered. You can search your PM box for whatever you like, be that by user or subject or word

- A New "Report message" Button has been added to each message. The icon for reporting is same as the one used on the forums. ie. This can be found at the far right top of each message.

- Private message quick reply now includes quote of message.

- Private Message History

A new private message history feature has been implemented. When you receive a message from another user that is inreply to something you sent them, you can now view a history of replies.

This is useful when you receive a message from someone and you cannot recollect the original discussion. The message history keeps track of all messages that have been replied to back and forward since an original message, allowing you to view the full discussion. There are some caveats that should be noted:
  • The message history will only ever show messages from your own message folders. For this reason, if you do not save sent messages then they will not be displayed; nor will messages that you delete.
  • The message history only displays messages that are older than the current message.
  • If you save a copy of a PM when you send it, that PM will always have a message history option and open with 'This message has no saved history'.
PROFILE PRIVACY

Member Privacy has always been of paramount importance here at the MLPTP. Currently guests cannot view any member information, nor is member info indexed on google/search engines.

The upgrade brings a further extension of member privacy by way of "Profile Privacy" options that will be available to all

Individual blocks within a member profile can now be made available on a per user basis.

To implement profile privacy, youll find the option in the User CP under "Your Profile" / Profile Privacy.
