Its a pretty extensive upgrade, alot more privacy controls will be available for members especially with profiles, members will have the option of making certain parts of their profile private /friends only etc.......
PM functions will change too, with much more options.... ie being able to search and sort PMs ,
Social groups will change too with the ability to subscribe to threads within them......
I have quite alot of preparation, hoping to get it done later this week, but Ill make a post as we get nearer.....
Other things suggested/mentioned in the last few posts Ill look at once the upgrade has been completed.....

I think this is a good suggestion. Also, maybe there could be a way for the original poster only to have a thread unlocked in MLP Discussion, Friends, etc... by PMing one of the mods and stating the reason why they would like the thread to be unlocked.

I think the Admins should allow members with more than, say, 20 posts to change the colour scheme for the sidebar but it will only look different when they log into their account and only on their account.
Also, I think MLPTP should have a points system, where a certain amount of contributions (i.e. donations, NOT posts) are counted up and used for reference when a user applies for a position, like Moderator. The users with the most points have a higher chance of getting a position.
Just a suggestion, but I think it would be cool

Whatever system they're using currently to make a person a Moderator seems to be working perfectly well already. We love our mods too!
Ok here's my new suggestion. Can we have a permanent sticky in the sales forum for buying and selling etiquette? I know you have the one for updating sales threads and that's a great sticky to have too.
It would be great to have new and old people read these stickies to understand more how buying and selling works especially when it comes to courtesy.
My issues are people who ask to have something put on hold and they disappear, with minimal communication or no communication at all (I know that I can put in my sales thread the length of a hold) but in the sticky maybe it can say something like, "as a buyer, it's ok to put something on hold with the intention on buying, but if it doesn't work out, PLEASE pm the seller to let them know you don't want it anymore.
Of course it already says it in the current sticky but yes- us sellers need to constantly update our sales thread to let people know what is available. I can't think off the top of my head right now to add more things . Maybe I'll come up with some thoughts later

I've got a suggestion - make it so that ALL types of comments count to your post count, including profile comments, picture comments, and posts in social groups.
Another suggestion - make it possible to subscribe to pictures like you can to threads. That way if I post a comment on a picture that is not my own, I get notified by email and don't have to keep checking for replies.

Autolocking threads, though it can be done, isnt something that is visually appealing to anyone.
Old sales posts I may consider archiving , and allow no replies etc.....
Other areas, posts can be bumped, if someone has something new to add, we dont discourage bumping here, since we have some fantastic threads that really are timeless.
This hasnt been a real issue, but yes I can see that out of date market place threads are a nuisance, hence the reason for archiving neatly instead.

We dont allow monetary donations here at the MLPTP. If you wish to give something back to the community, the best way to do that is to give it as a free raffle etc. I dont ask for anything here, we dont have "donators" and "non donators" etc .
Eventhough point /Karma/Reputation systems exist on the board, they are not activated and not in use.

Mod Positions are not given out by ballot nor based upon points of any kind, nor are they based on post count. Ones suitability is considered, amongst other factors and those who would be suitable are approached privately.

Post counts are only posts, the new upgrade will change and widen the current subscription system however post counts will remain forum posts only at this stage.
Far as the upgrade, this is still to be implemented,

SS, I didn't mean monetary donations ~ I actaully meant raffles or additions to the site, e.g. tutorials.

Hey ss ^.^
I'm adding to the craziness that is the Suggestion Box lately xD
This is in regards to the thread you will stick for Pikabubba, about Buying/Selling Etiquette.
I think the selling threads should work the same as the freebies threads. I think interest in an item should first be mentioned in the thread before pm'ing. If you go to a thread and see that interest has already been made in this item, that item, and that one, you can look for another thread selling the items you're looking for, whereas when everything is done just through pm, you waste your time asking about an item only to find out someone is going to buy it.
