Debate Forum Reopening

Requirements to Join the Round Table Debate Forum as follows:

Membership to Debate is by Application only.

Post Count Minimum - 100
2 Months of Membership at the Trading Post
Active Posting members

If you wish to Join the Group, please PM your request directly to me.

The purpose of the debate forum is to discuss topics that are worthy of debate / contraversial, in a friendly Manner.

This Forum will be moderated and the general rules of the board also apply here, however, by posting you are stating that you are mature enough to debate without the need for a moderator to have to close/edit your topic.

This is NOT an adult topic discussion group, please bear in mind that the MLPTP has a G rating, this does also.

Anyone flaming, will be removed from the group without hestitation.

You are expected to conduct yourselves in a respectful manner at all times, and must treat all other members of this group with the respect they deserve. You do not have to agree with people. This group is not to argue who is right or wrong, but to argue on a viewpoint. There is an important difference, and if you dont understand that difference, you really shouldnt apply.

While everyone is expected to treat discussions in this group as just that, Discussion, and not an attack on anothers views or beliefs, you should use tact, and remember that no matter the age or subject that peoples feelings can be hurt.

Above all treat others as you would like to be treated yourself.

Please dont hesitate to ask any questions in this thread.

are there limits on how many topics a person can start in a day/wee? i know there were some members who had like 10 or more threads on the first page alone! (seemed a little much...)

The restrictions are posted above. Number of topics isnt limited, I very much doubt that will happen........ since the whole area has been reviewed.

I realise I've not been around a whole lot lately so this was probably asked and answered before - how come the debate forum was closed and reviewed? Was there a problem?

Ooh I like this! For some reason I gloss over the stickies, but this is very good. The last go round was kinda tense.

There were some problems with some of the more recent threads. Some people were using it as an adult topic/discussion forum rather than for debating and there was some missunderstanding about the diference between debating and being argumentative. It was agreed that the rules needed some revamping and reconsideration, rather than getting rid of the forum all together.
