This all started when I had to take apart some yarn and ended up with all of this pompom-like stuff that looked really neat. I thought it'd look really good on a yellow pony, and a poor old Lemon Drop was at hand, so...
Sorry for the over load of pictures, but she came out really well I think. Not that I thought she'd look bad, but when you start off with just a half-brained idea and this is the result, it's awesome!
So originally I had the idea to use the yarn and make her pom-pom themed. Then everyone started doing carasel customs and they reminded me of festivals and fairs and carnivals, and so looking at this girl with her pompom stringyness, the idea for a carnival themed pony came to me.
Her original symbols looked fine (she was tailess and I wanted a yellow pony) so I got the idea to paint a few of the drops in colors to match the hair. Then I thought it'd look cool to give her some carnival face paint in the same colors and well...yeah...I got a little artsy/abstract/random there but it still came out really pretty I thought.
I did her mane the way I did because at first it all was just going to be te pom-poms; it looked to me like how they bun up horsey hair for shows and stuff. But then i liked how it made the tail, and thinking of carnival-like head dresses, how they got stuff on top and then longer back stuff, so I mimiced that instead.
Basicly she's random and was really easy to do, but she just turned out so well! And I just keep calling her Carnaval, but considering that I kept her Lemon Drop-ness, I made her full name "Carnaval de Citron Sucre" which (as long as my French isn't messed up ^^; ) means "Carnival of Lemon Suger" litterally; I don't know what they call "lemon drops" ^^;
So tadur! Hopes you likes her. As soon as I put up a pre-Vegas sales thread, she'll be up in it. So be on the lookout!
