The now glittery slippers:
Broken little house:
Emerald City:
Close up of the city--notice the cracking:

Oooh! Yay more Frank Baum!
I love the shape of her eyes!
I don't hink you should start again, she is a gorgeous colour.
I'm just kinda confused about the blue around the Emerald city?! (sorry now I feel bad!)
I like your idea, I'm working on an Ozma pony and shes real tricky because you want to get it juuust right!
Good luck!

mostly because i painted her emerald, and was going to put the road but hadn't planned on the Emerald City... so when I decided I wanted to try the city, it didn't show up against the green back ground. :(

Wow, I wouldn't strip down and start over, it looks amazing! I love that you used a Totsy fakie, LOL!
I just have a few suggestions, if you were asking for them...
I too think the blue is a bit confusing. If I were you, and of course you may disagree, as I'm totally not atistic at all, but I'd paint emerald over the blue, and just do a thicker black outline around the emerald city to make it stand out.
Looks wonderful either way though!

wow look at that brick road! Looks great so far! I'd agree with more black outlines to break it up a bit more. I wouldn't start over.

You've come this far Dorothy, can't stop now! Maybe if you tell me what you don't like about it I could be more help.
The colors are cheerful and the design elements (road, Emerald City, forest of snarky trees, the field of poppies and the ruby slippers) are easy to ID. What's not to love?
If I would critique it at all I'd say fine brush around the slippers with a contrasting color to make them pop.
It's painstaking, eye-crossing work to sit there and dab on a tiny outline with a brush the size of a flea's ear, but well worth it in the end.
I love that you've chosen one of my favorite fakie types as a canvas, too.
Will she have a rainbow somewhere when she's through?

Heh. Because I don't just want easy to ID, I want PERFECTION, but I'm not that good a painter.
Well, I don't like the house at all... and looking back at the pictures, i realize why nobody's commenting on that! Put 2 views of the same area instead of one of the chest. So I'll throw that in here now.
I think the suggestions about outlining the city will help me like that area more. Would you outline the shoes with a lighter green? I think black will work okay for the city but not so well for the shoes....
Hadn't planned to put in a rainbow, but mostly because I hadn't thought of it... maybe arching over the city?

Ok you made me chuckle WS. Thanks I needed that it's been a crap day!
If it's perfection you want, perfection you shall have.
Can you possibly retake the house photo?
Camera's got the pony blurred and the light bulb on the right is in perfect focus. *g*
Mine does that to me too sometimes, drives me nuts trying to get the lens to "see" what I want it to see. Got the macro setting on?
i'll think on this a bit and get back to you in the AM.
Maybe the hair could be the rainbow
