Usually I don't like sculpted or yarn hair HOWEVER if the artist thinks it looks good and if happy with it then I say go for it. I'd also like you say that I have a huge thing for unicorns and boys.

Since Kar gave me the go-ahead, I guess I'll start this now.
Have you ever thought a pony would look better as a different species? Think Mimic would look better as a SHS, Red Roses as a flutter? Well, this is the swap for you!
Here's some basic boring rules, along with all other standard TP swap regulations:
1. 16 or older (no sponsors this round)
2. Member for 6 months OR have 5 positive feedbacks here or at the Arena (no ebay feedback)
3. have participated in at least one swap of any kind before (private swaps do not count)
4. can show me pictures of your customs
Important dates:
Sign-ups: December 31 - January 8
Reference checks: ongoing though sign-ups but ending January 11
Assignments: January 12
Check-in: Friday, February 12 (please provide photos at this point)
Shipping date: Saturday, March 13
Before we begin:
Either register your interest in this thread or PM me directly. To expedite this thing, send me your addy at this stage. After your reference check and the OK by me, choose 3 Hasbro ponies of any generation (no personas please) that you'd like to see as a different species, including your pony likes and dislikes (i.e. if you don't want a SHS mold or yarn hair or something). Then, just wait for your assignment! That's a good time to stock up on supplies or order hair. When you get your assignment, get to it!
If you can't/don't want to ship outside your country, please let me know immediately!
After your partner is assigned:
When you get your partner, get to work! Check this thread to see their pony choices and their likes and dislikes (you know, so you don't make them the ONE species/mold they hate - it's happened before!).
Do NOT change generation! If you pick a G1 to remake, create a G1 custom.
*Do NOT sculpt anything! You won't have to - a unicorn changed into, say, a flutter wouldn't have a horn! The custom you make should have none of the defining features of the species the original pony came from. Now, you can make a TE pegasus into a TE unicorn, that's fine. The TE's don't define a species. Also, don't find an earthie bait and sculpt wings or a horn or anything on it. Find the species of bait you want and use it. So no sculpting!
Basic swap stuff that just occurred to me:
No fakies for baits. The quality just isn't the same.
Ship your custom in a box with bubblewrap. I know there is no sculpting involved, but do it anyway. Humor me.
Delivery confirmation is a must! Seriously, it saves headaches later. I have enough of those as it is.
Extras are not required or encouraged, as this is a custom swap. Extras will not make up for a missed shipping deadline.
THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO REMEMBER:
Signing up for this swap signifies your agreement to ship ON OR BEFORE THE DEADLINE. If you miss the deadline you WILL receive a neutral feedback for the swap. Shipping on time is integral to the function of a swap and to be frank I'm sick of the excuses that always crop up around the deadline. Make your custom, do it well, and mail it. I sound like a jerk, I know, but it's my biggest pet peeve. 
*I'm not anti-sculpting, I'm anti-this-swap-taking-forever, lol!

what ristvak said. with swaps i generally start the day the assignments are given and i'm done before the end of the week. the rest of the time is just me not losing it or finding extras to go in the box ^^
