Selling customs made by other people?

How do you go about selling customs made by other people. I have bought several off ebay, but for the life of me can not remember who made them. Do I post them here first and offer for the creator to buy them back, or do I just list them for sale? I need to sell a few items, however I did not want to step on anyones toes. They are very lovely customs, very realistic, however everyone has the right to pick and choose what there willing to part with when money issues arise (right?). Am I just rude?

I don't think it's rude; times are tough. I think we can all relate there!! I think your idea of posting them and letting customizers have first dibs is a great one! ^_^

Don't feel bad. When someone is paid for their art, I'm sure they know that there is a chance that it may be sold again to someone else someday. If you need the money, then you need the money. I also think it's nice that you are considering giving the original artists a chance to buy back their art. I would say that is a sign of respect.

I agree with the other posts. I think it's a good idea to post here to see if someone wants their pony back. Then the other ones can be put on ebay.

They are your ponies. If you need the money, then you can definitely sell them.

I agree w/ everyone else. As a customs artist myself, I have NO problem if someone buys my customs and resells them. No biggie. Once you buy something, it belongs to you. Although your idea of posting the customs here to give the original creator a chance to reclaim them is very thoughtful!

I also agree with the others. It's a great ide to let the artists see if they want to bye back and we all know what money is like atm.

It's also courteous to track down the artist's name when you resell, just so they can get their proper credit. I've seen a few posts like that now and then in the customs forum, and usually someone will know who made the pony pretty quickly.

Unless you made some prior deal with the customizer, I don't think there would be a problem in reselling.
