It’s about that time! The air is cooling, the days are shortening, and your inner candy-crazy, costume-loving, pony-customizing child is getting an itchy painting finger. In the spirit of the most candy-coated holiday of the year, may I present to you, the

2010 Official TP Halloween Custom Swap

This is going to be run in much the way it was last year, with 2 different levels. This is the SIMPLICITY category. This swap is for the customizer who wants to make a stunner but keep things simple.If you want to get wild and crazy, get on over to the other thread!

Make sure you read the notes at the bottom of this thread about failing to meet deadlines and sending extras.

Requirements:

1. 16 or older to join (minors will need a sponsor. Sponsor must meet all other requirements here. If you would like to sponsor, drop me a PM)
2. Active member for at least 6 months
3. Have 5 positive feedbacks here or at the Arena (try not to use Ebay feedback, but exceptions may be made because I do want people to be able to participate)
4. Delivery Confirmation is an absolute must and you must ship this one in a box if you sculpt anything
7. DO NOT TAKE ON MORE SWAPS THAN YOU CAN HANDLE. If you are in ANY other swaps from ANY other boards or have taken on ANY commissions, you MUST disclose to me what your progress is for each when you send your application. I may ask for pictures of your progress to gauge whether or not you can handle more than one project. There are lots of fun swaps going on around this time of year and I’d hate for people to get bogged down.

Important Dates:

Partner assignments: September 6, 2010
Check-in: October 1, 2010
Shipping date: October 23, 2010 (International shipping date is October 16, 2010)

If you don’t want extras like confetti in your box, please post that here. If you’re allergic to anything, better post that too. You’ll send me your address closer to the shipping date.

Domestic shipping date will be October 23so that gives you over a month to work if you start on the date you get your partner assignment.

I'll take ten people or as many that sign up until Sept. 5, whichever comes first! If you’ve signed up for the other category, DO NOT sign up for this one too!

DELIVERY CONFIRMATION IS A MUST! You must not send your custom without it. If you cannot prove you sent your pony and it comes up missing, I will have to assume you did not send one. YOU will be responsible for making a replacement for your partner. Sorry, but them’s the breaks. If your pony goes missing and you can prove to me you sent her, then it is on me to make the replacement pony and I will happily do so. If the cost of shipping and DC might be just a little beyond your reach right now, sit this one out. There will always be more swaps you can join in the future.

EXTRAS DO NOT MAKE UP FOR A MISSED DEADLINE! Extras are also not required. This is a custom swap, even though Halloween puts most people in mind of mountains of candy. If you want to send extras, that is at your own discretion but you should not expect any in return.


IF YOU SCULPT ANYTHING SEND THE PONY IN A BOX! It is SO easy for sculpted bits to be damaged in the mail, and bubble mailers offer no real protection from being smashed or having other heavy mail piled on top. Save everyone some heartache and use a box.

IF YOU MISS THE SHIPPING DEADLINE, YOU WILL RECEIVE A NEUTRAL FOR THIS SWAP! Deadlines are integral to a swap. If “life happens” and you KNOW you will not be able to continue or finish within a reasonable timeframe, you must let me know immediately so that I can pull you out of the swap. You will still receive the neutral, though. If you pull out of or are removed from the swap AFTER the check-in date, you will receive a negative feedback.

1. Skelanimals! I love these plushies and I think they would be cute on a custom pony. Kit is my favorite (even though I don't especially like cats).
2. I like bright colors over dark: yellow, orange, green, purple, etc.
3. Cute/Pretty designs
4. Candy themes
5. Ponies in costume, although I would prefer fabric over sculpted.
6. Stars!
7. "Cute" Monsters, like those from the Monsters High dolls. I think Frankie is goregous and would love to have her in pony form.

Custom Pony Dislikes:

Super elaborately painted eyes. (I like eyes that look at least close to original pony eyes.)
So-Softs/flocked, BBEs, Newborn mold, Teeny Tiny mold
full body repaints (Not a hard and fast rule, but my cats do tend to knock things off shelves and paint sometimes chips, sooo . . .)
sculpted hair, straw curls, glitter, real feathers
G2s and (shudder!) G3.5s
tails that don't match manes. (Okay to have a streak of color in mane that isn't in tail, like the G1 unicorns. But nothing like Rainbow Dash, where the mane is three colors and the tail is three different colors.)
