texas meet

I'd be up for a Texas Meet as usual Just let me know when and where and I'll request the time off from work (which usually isn't a problem...my boss is cool like that). I can help out a little with financing some of it too if needed. I"m happy to donate for a texas meet.

I live in Northern Louisiana, very close to the Texas boarder. If the meet isn't too far, I could/would make it. Dallas is about a 3.5 hour drive for me so that would be great.

Well in the past when we've had meets they've been on the east side of Texas or around Austin. It seems like most of us live in/around Dallas, Austin, and Houston... so chances are for other states it *will* be a bit of a drive. Though it's worth it. We're a friendly bunch! Last time it seemed like we spent a whole day just chatting and hanging out with each other and completely forgetting about all the pony activities XD;

But either way it'll depend on who's hosting and where they are.

I've never done anything pony related or have met any pony people either. I think the hardest part so far will deciding the where, and the theme. I know there are a few from the Houston area, a few from the Dallas area, and others that are here and there in between. x_x Suggestions please!~

Hey Dusty! We love our house but we were hoping to sell it and get a place in the country east of Austin. If we're going to drive this far to work, we want it to at least be for some peace and quiet and some space! Otherwise we'll just move back into the city. Anyway, no one's looking, so I doubt we're going anywhere.

Well, I'll throw my name/house in the hat for having another one here, but the times I could do it are pretty limited. Anyone for central Texas either the weekend of June 27-28 or some time in August???

I've been off the boards; I admit my pony collecting goes in cycles of 2 - 3 years and right now it's an off-season. Plus the ponies have been packed away because the realtor said they probably WOULDN'T help the house show.... heh. But I've been looking for a good excuse to free them from their little plastic-tub-prisons.... (NOT like I have that huge of a collection, don't get too excited. No rares or anything, I think my best score is a Stockings....)

I honestly would love to have one at my house but I live all the way in New Mexico. I tried finding New Mexico people and no one answered my post. I guess I am the only one from my state that is on the TP right now. Texas is a big state and that is a long drive, I know.

Sure is a long drive, and for me I'm 2 hours from New Mexico itself. It's been a long while since I've even been there though. Thank goodness for GPS's... except for when the silly thing isn't trying to make you drive in circles.

elphaba; At least yours goes in cycles. Mine has come to a dead stop really.
I wouldn't be able to do June 27... gotta go to the ball game that day. Just gotta. XD;
But sometime in August might be good.

If things go well, I won't have any trade/sell fodder however. I need the money too badly to hold onto all of that until a meet up. :\

Well Stormy, since you are in the panhandle, maybe we can plan a meet up sometime when I am driving through. My family drives through Amarillo a couple times a year to visit all our family in Kansas. Are you near Amarillo by any chance? I can just plan on bringing a tub of ponies with me on a trip sometime.

It would be a pony meet with fun games or food or anything, but it can be a short hello.

That sounds like a cool plan! Actually I do live near Amarillo, I live in Lubbock. Which is about 110-120 miles south of Amarillo.
