Indoor & Outdoor I would think would depend on the time of year. If it's outdoor we'll have to worry about rain/wind and other things that might get in the way of certain activities.

I'm not sure about things to do honestly; I've never been to a meet but I would think maybe some simple games would be best. Like a Scavenger Hunt kind of thing (maybe with photo's instead of actual items). Maybe a hunt type game where things are hidden (I was thinking ponyvilles in easter eggs) where people just find them and then either keep what they find or whomever gets the most gets a prize. Coloring contest maybe with a couple of different prizes?

As for food - I would think something buffet sytle that can be put together since there are many different tastes. I know I myself can't stand onions so getting something premade that way would be eh for me. Something like maybe a sandwich bar where there's a couple of different types of meat & bread to choose from and everyone can pile on toppings as they choose. Veggie trays and chips aren't usually too expensive so that could be something as well.

I would love to do this! We tried a year or so ago, but it just didn't work out.

I am in the Humble/Houston area as well and am more than willing to help in anyway I can.

Well, it's still a long way off but I'll throw my house in the hat for summer 2010! I live in Taylor which is about 30 minutes NE of Austin, we have good BBQ and a cute movie theater. I don't have hardly any money to spend but I'll play hostess if yall want! The only trick is - I go out of town every July, so it would have to be in June or August. So let me know! It'll light a fire under my butt to build some new pony shelves, and hone my pony-cake decorating skills....

Austin's right by Killeen as well so I don't mind the drive down. I'd be up for that. And it would be awesome to meet new pony people too.

Elphaba, my new year's resolution for 2010 is to attend pony meets out of my area. Would you happen to be close to the airport? And would you be able to put a new yorker up for the night?

Kar - NOTHING is "close" to anything here compared to NY standards! But, the airport is a straight shot down the toll road from Taylor, about 30 or 35 minutes if I remember right. And if you're coming all the way, we'll GO TO THE AIRPORT TO GET YOU!!! You are certainly welcome to stay here - last time we had one here everyone piled in the living room in sleeping bags and inflatable beds, and it was one huge flotilla of people with pony sheets. It was great. But I do have a guest bed and since I'm guessing you'd rather not fly with a huge aerobed, I'll reserve it for ya. If this happens! I guess we'd better get some dates thrown around, now that it's 2010!

p.s. jeez, maybe while someone's at my house they can show me how to upload a dang picture to my posts. I've been a member since..... uh..... since it was the OLD site, and yet I can't manage an avatar OR a signature. Good thing ponies don't have microchips.
