I voted for August 22nd. I figured the more time I had, the more likely I would be able to work out coming. 3 hours isn't all that bad of a trip to make. I haven't been to Central Park in a long time. It'd be nice to go again. Especially to meet pony people.

This sounds like a lot of fun. I think I can do any of those weekends as long as I have 2 weeks notice for the final date. (I have to tell one of my jobs in advance if/when I need time off). I would be willing to do any of those weekends except for the 22nd (School and such) This sounds like a lot of fun. I could definitely bring some treats and such.

I'm so glad to see some people I haven't met in person before are replying! I'm excited about this too, yes, it'll be fun!

So far the last two dates are ahead - remember you can vote for more than one date on the poll. *edits title*

I've been getting some PMs about the picnic so I'll post answers here for everyone, in case you are wondering the same things:

If it rains - then what?

I know! We have been getting a lot of rain in NYC lately, I don't know what's going on with the weather - is this el nino, or something (??) - but hopefully it'll rain itself out now so we'll have a nice sunny July and August. If we select a date and find out later that the forecast is for showers, we could 1) hold it the next available date, 2) hold it the sunday after or 3) choose a new venue. One TPer has suggested an indoor locale that might be doable. I need to find out more info before I say anything more on that.

Late arrivals...
I suggest you PM me for my mobile #. Then you can call me and we'll either tell you where we are, or come meet you by the castle and bring you to our spot. We won't travel too far from the castle, depending on how crowded the park is that day I'll do my best to make camp within sight of the castle.

Can I bring my non-pony collecting friend/ relative / spouse?

Sure - so long as they're cool with pony stuff, and pony people!

Bringing ponies

Yeah! What's a pony picnic without ponies?
Bring your ponies, and bring a camera - We can take some nice shots of our MLPs amongst the pretty flowers in the Shakespeare Garden.

Oh this sounds like fun. I hope whatever day we pick does have nice weather. I think we've had enough rainy days for a month :P

Ok July 18th had the least votes so i'm taking it out of the poll.

It's now betwen 8/1 , 8/8 , and 8/22

Any preferences?

If we can decide on a date that's earlier rather than later, there'll still be time left to reschedule a rain date in case of foul play on mother nature's part.
Am not partial to any one date myself... Just sayin' it makes better sense to plan it for one of the earlier dates

I would prefer an earlier date as well because we could reschedule if there is rain and the 28th I am going back to Rochester for school >.< I vote 6/1 or 6/8 The 1st might be better unless we can't get many people to go.

hi, is this considered a pony meet or something slightly different? Will there be buying/selling/trading of ponies there?

No DB, it's not a meet, there won't be trading or pony tables. It's food, friends, a few of our favorite ponies and talk, maybe a game if everyone's up for one.
