Houston, TX Meet

My dad has agreed to let the house be overrun by crazy pony people for a day, so my meet is on!
Date: June 9th, 2012
Time: 10 a.m. to 5 or 6 p.m.
Where: My house on the Northwest side of Houston, TX
(Near FM 1960/Hwy 6 and Hwy 290 - exact location will be given out in private)

I'm planning a raffle, pony bingo, a paint-a-magnet station, goodie bags, every FiM episode on the DVR, misc. G1 episodes on DVD, the usual buy/sell/trade, and food! (I will have something for lunch plus lots of snacks, you're on your own for dinner!)

I'm open to other activities as well, so let me know if you have any suggestions! Just keep in mind that indoor space is slightly limited and it will most likely be a bajillion degrees outside.

This is a free event but don't forget to bring money for raffle tickets and pony buying!

The meet will be open to anyone who wants to make the drive. I cannot put anyone up for the night, but there are several hotels within 2 miles of my house (names and addresses available on request!)

I'm trying to keep this an "adult" (16+) event, but if you have kids you're welcome to bring them.
Keep in mind that YOU will be responsible for them and if they become disruptive or destructive you may be asked to leave.

Have to roll out the family vacation as an excuse to come but want ditch them for the day?
There are 3 movie theaters near me, and (if they're up for the drive) there's also a zoo, several historical sites scattered around town, and Galveston beach is about an hour and a half away.

Please note I do have a dog and a cat! The dog will probably be locked up for the day and the cat will flee at the sign of the first guest arriving, but their fur will linger! I will be doing major vacuuming in the week leading up to the event but do keep this in mind if you have allergies.

Cool it's been ages since I've been to a pony meet. I'd love to come so long as I could bring my 3.5-year-old daughter. She's mostly just quiet and shy in new places. We'd probably stay only a few hours.

Not a problem =) I know a lot of people have kids so I'm not going to outright ban them, but my house is in no way child proofed so you'd just have to keep an eye on her.

Oh goodness, Cattrah you have a kid now?

I will definitely be considering attending. It's been ages since I've been to a meet up and it could be fun. It all depends on my work and even baseball schedule.

But some suggestions for possible things to do, a the last meet I was at, we had pony racing (in the little mopeds some of the G3's came with) and a pinata as well as pony pictionary (you had to convey a pony's name with pictures but not by drawing their symbol/cutie mark). Those were all very fun!

Also, if you feel you're in need of some prizes, I can go through the things I have available that I'd be willing to donate. You can feel free to PM me about that if you'd like.
