BC meet up! (You Alberta/Washington people better come up, too!)

I'd like to see if there are any BC or maybe even Alberta and Washington people on here that would like to meet up for a day or two of chatting, trading and general pony fun? I don't know a single person (besides all you wonderful MLPTP users) who collects ponies and would love to meet some new friends!

Leave a reply if you're interested! We could set something up for a couple of weeks/months from now! Maybe even get a yearly thing going!!

UPDATE: I really am interested in getting a Meet Up organized! I can host it at my house or, depending on how large it ends up being, I could rent a room at the local community center. The Bakery/Deli I work at would be able to provide a wonderful arrangement of finger sandwiches and goodies, as well as fantabulous pony cake!

If somebody wants to get in on helping me organize games and stuff I'd appreciate it! Otherwise I think I'd be able to handle it all by myself, with maybe some donations towards cost of say... prizes, food and the possible room rental? I don't mind paying for stuff since I'd be hosting it, but it would be nice to get a bit of help so my wallet doesn't start yelling at me again, ha ha.

I live in the Sunny Okanagan valley, so there are many things to do if you wanted to make this a weekend trip or holiday, especially if you live a bit farther away. There are beautiful lakes and hot weather to match, dozens of wineries and tasting rooms, and gorgeous scenery! There are lots of activities for kids, as well, like a miniature theme park, a model train museum (this one is just fabulous!) and a Desert Center showcasing the eco-system and animals of the one and ONLY desert in all of Canada! I live approximately 5 hours away (inland) from Vancouver and also 5 hours away (north) from Seattle, Washington. The Alberta border isn't too much farther than that, so we could make this meet up a kind of tri-province/state thing!

So, if you are interested in attending or helping please send me a PM! I was thinking September-ish for a meet up - the weather here will be quite nice, but the prices for things like hotels should be down again with the summer rush being over.

Let's get a discussion going and figure out how to make this happen!

I am also wondering about possible meet ups in Seattle? That's only a 5 hour drive for me, and would definitely be worth it to go meet some more pony collectors!

Hi there, I also live in BC and I just joined this site! I used to have a whole bunch of ponies when I was a child, from G1, and one day my mother took them all without my knowledge and she sold them all at a friends garage sale. Those ponies were everything to me and believe it or not I am still scarred by that at 25 years old. I am collecting again and I only have 11 ponies so far, all from the 2000's.

Where in BC are you? I am in the lower mainland.

A bunch of us at the arena have been talking about meeting in Calgary, ALTA next Canada day weekend (2013). That way the members in Saskatchewan could go too. We will certainly talk about it much before then. We were looking at trying for a place in the middle so everybody who could go (BC ALTA SASK) and travel those distances could make a holiday outta it.

That would be so cool! I'd definitely make the drive to Calgary for a pony meet up! Not to mention I've been meaning to take a trip to Calgary for forever to get some actual Flames merch, ha ha. There's nothing but lame Canucks stuff over here!

Omg I know, the canucks suck, especially when it matters the most, the Stanley Cup!

Anyway, Calgary would be way too far of a drive for me, I have no idea what will happen but I'd love to come to a meet up one of these years.
