Some of you will know me from the Arena and UK Ponycon forums; well I thought it was about time I joined here as well!

I've been collecting since 2003 and have a 1400+ strong herd! I collect mostly G1 but also a lot of G4s and dabble in G2 and G3.

I've always loved ponies, they were my main childhood toys and despite a 'break' when I was a teenager that never really went away. I took up collecting after leaving College in a bid to not grow up! I wear my crazy on my sleeve for all to see, but don't worry, it's good-crazy haha!

I live with my husband, Joe and our five cats in Barnsley in the UK.

They're all in really nice condition, all they need is a hair brushing and a little clean.

By this I mean you've got characters like, say, Firefly and Baby Firefly and so forth, and people love pairing up the mommies and daughters together, and even when some characters don't have, erm, daughters, some folks will give them one. I recall even seeing someone say that she was disappointed in the Rainbow Babies because they weren't daughters of the original Rainbow Ponies.

Now, I have to say... This idea of a daughter being just a mini version of the mother is kind of confusing in its appeal to me.

I don't know, it just makes me roll my eyes a little whenever the description of a Baby pony in the comics, for example, includes something along the lines of "like her mother, (...)", but no "howevers" to provide the least bit of contrast.
Going by the example above, the fact that the Rainbow Babies are in fact, their own individuals is actually one of the reasons I latched on to them before I did the original Baby pony set (before I caved in face of Baby Cotton Candy's cuteness, that is, heh). They were much easier to imagine as their own persons instead of being defined by anyone else.

Also, another thing I wonder is why does it go immediately to "mother/daughter" and never to, say, sisters (other than the twins, I mean), which I'd honestly find interesting. I know the (sweet, sweet) commercials had that whole My Little Pony Mommy thing going for a long while, but I don't really get the reason behind it except for, well, the 80s being sort of open in the view that girls were mostly suited to be either princessy, fashion or music icons, or, well, moms (broadly speaking, of course).

This is, of course, coming from the perspective of someone who did not grow up in that era, does not have kids (have to say I hope they're not carbon copies of me if I ever do, I'll be doomed) and likes to imagine character personalities, so I may be missing something here.

I'm sure certain people remember me, I was gone for the longest time but I continue to keep coming back. Still very found of My Little Pony and I believe I'm going to start collecting again. That piece of my life is missing and I miss collecting ponies, just holding it in my hand brings back so many wonderful memories.

Lately I've been thinking about growing up in the 80's and 90's and more and more I keep seeing all that stuff coming back. My Little Pony will always remain in my heart. Very glad I'm coming back, and plus I missed talking to everyone on here.

I just love how she looks with rainbow hair!
Bluebelle was really worse for wear with near no hair and she has fading symbols and other problems like discolorations, but still gorgeous!

And don't worry, my rehairs are fully reversible so she can still be put back to normal, but I like her like this :smilepony:
