Gauging interest in a semi rpg game (Werewolf)

I'm considering organizing a game of Werewolf. I seen this game played but I'm not very familiar with its online version, so I'm researching it. In the meantime, I'm wondering if there will be an interest in this kind of game. I'm calling it a semi rpg because while there are player based characters you can rpg with, its not really as freeform as most online rpg games are. Here's a basic summary of it:

The Story: In a corner of Ponyland, a group of ponies is being hunted by werewolves. When night comes, a pony is targeted and kidnapped by a werewolves. When day comes, the ponies gather together and try to figure out who among them is giving their hidding places away. They seek justice and must vote on who they think are the werewolves hiding as a pony among them, so they can rescue their missing friends.
The Objective: The guardian and ponies must figure out who are the werewolf is and capture her/him before they all dissapear. The werewolf(ves) must be cunning and avoid being found out, so they can capture all the ponies.

The catch: Nobody (well except the game moderator) knows who is who in the game.

Anyway, I think we'll need at least 7 people playing at the beginning. The more people involved the longer each game can take. Please post if you would be interested in playing.

I've never played it before, but Werewolf is sort of like Murder In The Dark, right? I think it would be neat to try it online, especially since we'd have such a potentially large group to work with.

I like the idea of a MLP roleplaying game, but I wouldn't necessarily want it centered around Werewolf. Nor would it have to be. I don't think that Werewolf, or the Universe, would translate well to MLP.

However, like I said, it would be extraordinarily easy to set up something similar using members of the community who would want to participate with only slight modification to fit it into the MLP universe.

Now, forgive my stupidity, but I have to ask... How do you play The Universe? I'm picturing a very existential game of Murder In The Dark with a cold and callous "universe" player going around killing people with the power of entropy. lol That sounds like my kind of game, but I'm sure that can't be how it's done.

This sounds like it would be a lot of fun. I'm not sure on joining in myself, though (too busy with real life RPGs like Dungeons and Dragons). Just putting in a vote for anyone else who's vaguely interested to give it a try.

You could try looking at Dungeons and Dragons and D20 modern to see if they would work well in a MLP game

I know this game goes by several names: Mafia, Werewolf, etc. I wouldn't be surprised that Murder in the Dark is just another one. :P

Anyways, I wouldn't mind at all modifying the story to fit the MLP universe better. I'm asumming you mean like changing the werewolves to, I dunno, smooze? or something like that? Or am I missing the point?

I love RPG games, so turning it into a pony game would really be awesome! I'm really intrigued by this, CM. Smooze might actually be kinda cool! xD Haha
