I think I preferred the sidebar the way it was. Scrolling up and down isn't really a big issue, but just annoying enough for me to bring it up, hehe. I just liked being able to straight to the front page and open all the forums I wanted to look at in my tabs without scrolling. I'm not sure how you could compromise, though, as the frames were messing something up, right? And a floating sidebar would be distracting.

I agree with the sidebar. I liked that it was floating before. It made it a few seconds quicker.

I definately love the new layout, but I have to agree I prefer the sidebar to follow me so I don't have to scroll back up. Darn my laziness :-)

I think the artwork is lovely but I do prefer the old version. Maybe I am just a creature of habit but I have been on the arena a lot more than I have here since the change. I don't know why it just feels different

Snow Castle, the Arena sidebar isnt fixed either, and is the same in that it scrolls with the page also, like the new ones does here....

If you could see the board the old way, would that make it better for you?

Far as the fixed sidebar (in frames) There are close to no forums anywhere on the net where that would be found.... It is very restrictive in many ways in that login problems occur and also the top address in the window will never change.. It also prevents the selection of themes by members ( since its seperate completely to the board)...

Completely floating is really distracting, so that isnt something Id look at....

Other forums ( speaking very generally) have the non fixed sidebar ( sidebar that scrolls with the page) , yet everyone is ok with that,, .. but for some reason, for many, its not ok here..... :(

I can easily change the sidebars font..... I can change its size....... but if you prefer, Ill just put back the board as it was ... I was trying to move forward, to give many more options to provide a front page with news for everyone, and future selectable themes for everyone to choose from...

Oh, I don’t have any issues with the side bar at all it just doesn’t feel like ‘home’ anymore. Feel free to ignore me though as it is probably me being sentimental fool as I remember when everything changed over from ezboard and I really loved the new design.

Would it be possible to be able to change our personal view to the old one? I don’t know if this would however be a nightmare to do, I am clueless with that sort of thing

As I said before I really want to stress I do think the new look is lovely but it just feels different somehow.

This color is for a themed month, its not set to stay that way or anything...

For those who dont like this theme/styling. can we firstly try the blue (as it was) with the new sidebar that moves with the page , and see how you feel with that?

Im home today, so I can work on providing that option........ may take me a while... but If thats what members would like, then Ill certainly do that.

I don't mind it the way it is now.. I prefer the darker colors anyway.. and the layout hasn't been that hard getting used to.

I also like a floating sidebar, scrolling back to the top of the page just takes time in my opinion. I also liked the old opening page that didn't have any threads on it. When I open this one, the immediate text takes me a second to adjust to it. The older page was usually always the same and not cluttered, so I have a blank slate that I can immediately start with.

Ditto, on this color scheme as well, it's hard on my eyes.

The snippets of threads on the front page are news....... They arent whole threads, it only shows a portion of them...... to see the rest of the thread requires a click to "read more" etc....

If ppl dont like news, I can take them out...... I can also vary your viewing so you dont see any news at all... but a blank space if that would be better.

The rest is a small welcome message......

Is it really that cluttered do you think, theres not very much there in comparison with many other websites ( again speaking very generally.... )

The previous Home page, other than a side bar, had no content on it to speak of., it was near blank... .... I thought with news that it would be something interesting to see..... I also thought the welcome message may tell others a little about us, since the previous page had nothing.... but was close to a blank page....

Is the front page really that bad?

The poll is very disappointing..... But I do thank everyone for their honesty.... I do appreciate that...
