Air eea ah na?
As much as I enjoy different names I think the world could do without most of this kreatyv spelling nonsense. Its obnoxious as all get out to have people constantly misspell and mispronounce your own name. And then on the flipside have to write down someone's "speshul" name and they flip out because you mispell it. My bad! Its not my fault your parents gave you crazy names that sound just like normal ones.
Sorry its a semi bone of contention for having to take down too many over the phone orders without the customer responding when I ask them to spell it.
Weird names hmm?
Loyal=my little brother's middle name
Memory-some chic in one of my classes.
Dynasty-My friend named her little girl this. Cute but different!
Treasure-No kidding! Grew up with this one.
Precious-Also grew up with this one.
Kermis-Old fellow that I work with.
kione-some kind of hawaiin name, my sis's friend
Magnolia Jane-name of the baby next door. So very southern belle!
Vendetta-I like this one a lot!
Pajama-pronounces pah-jah-may. Pretty cool sounding until you realize its an article of sleep wear.
Then of course let us not for get. Orangejello and Yellowjello(pronounces oranj-ello and yellanj-ello

I can't understand why some people would give their kids, car names. And then there's names like Ocean and Sari. Ocean I don't mind so much but sari is an item of clothing! My ex-friend named her kid, Matti. It's not short for Matthew, true it's used as nickname for Matthew but since when did it become a proper name???!

Come to think of it when I was in middle school there was a set of sisters in high school named Stormy and Sunny Weathers. My husband still doesn't believe me when I tell him that. His walking partner for high school graduation was named Fawn and I know a lady named Fawn, too (not the same person, tho). My son goes to school with a girl named Bryony. I went to high school with a girl name January and middle school with a girl named Genivive (sp?).

And speaking of wierd spellings, I can't stand it either. Annoys the heck out of me. Nobody can pronounce it and then you get mad when we butcher it.

Mykal- Michael
Kiel- Kyle
Kyial- Kyle

My daughter's name is Ashley, my son's name is Kyle, and, okay I thought this one was a little weird at first, too, but my husband's name is Loren (pronounced just like Lauren). It was his grandfather's middle name so it's kinda old-fashioned.

What happened to the good, old-fashioned names like Sarah, David, Jonathon, Matthew, Rebecca, etc. I can understand wanting to be unique, but consider the teasing and the repeated misspelling that he/she will have to endure later on in life before you saddle your poor kid with "End Table" or "Rice Krispies" or something like that.

There's nothing wrong with giving your kid a funky name as long as they have a normal name to balance it out and they can pick and choose between the two.

My brothers have unusual names (for Dutch standards!): Ronan and Ciaran. Especially the latter is always mispronounced. I remember that in Kindergarten there was a kid who insisted on calling him 'Pyjama'

My girls have fairly common names....Abagail and Lillian. However their middle names are a little different....jade and arvilla. Arvilla was my grandmothers name so it is a family name.

My sons name is Griffin. I wanted something unusual but not too. I was a little worried at first but the name has really grown on him!
