LOL sounds like my kitty! She gets into the kids rooms and plays with their toys while they sleep! But she never wakes them, just me. LOL Kitty is a strictly indoor cat as well, but I'm glad I finally solved her problem, and it didn't cost me anymore than what I was already paying! Actually, i think I am saving money now, cause she's not going back to her bowl to eat again after puking. LOL

One simple thing you might try is soaking the food in water. I have a variety pack of problem cats, one of them will throw up daily if I don't soak the food. Not sure if it's because the food expands in the stomach when it gets wet, or because she eats it too fast, or what, but it's reliable--feed it without water, or switch food, and she starts vomiting.

Really? I would never think that with cat food. My cat has "sloppy lips" and will drop some food into his water, but never touch it... I know soaking isn't the same as food in water, but I can't imagine him wanting it after that.

Anyway it's been a while since I last posted, and I'm happy to report that things are going much better! I tried the Z/D prescription catfood, Mew didn't really like it and I was able to get a refund. I purchased Purina Sensitive Systems, in fact I mixed it with the Z/D and Mew would only eat the Purina. Now he's strictly on Purina and doing pretty good! I'm actually marking pukes on the calendar (yeah gross, oh well) and he went a full week without puking, woohoo! Keep your fingers crossed that he continues doing well.

Awesome to hear that he's feeling better :O) I wanted to ask, did you end up experimenting with giving him an obstacle course to eat around? I work in a cat shelter and I can think of several kitties who vomited after every meal because they ate too fast. All it took was a golf ball or two in the bowl to slow them down, and it helped so much!

ohhh I wanted to give him an "obstacle course" but had no ideas. Golf balls sound like a good idea! I might actually try that soon. Thanks!

We pay $18 each month for a 4lb bag of Science Diet C/D prescription food for our cat. He has urinary issues, and has done great on this food.

Sometimes you need to pay a bit more to get a food that cooperates with your pet.

Glad to hear you found something that works!!

Glad to hear things are going better for your cat and that he is feeling better. We have the same problem with one of our maine coons and he was like this from a kitten. He was tested and has allergies to beef, lamb and rabbit. A variety of grains and dairy.

We have to make sure that he gets nothing other than the dry food we have for him or he gets really sick. So we have to be extra careful keeping kitchen clean and wiping up spills immediately. Luckily he is an indoor cat and can be monitored.

He is nine now.
