Nicknames, any story behind them?
How did you come up with yours?
For example, mine, Marinakirby is a nickname that I've used ever since I began using the internet.(like, 10 years ago) Kirby is from the game, ( he was my most favorite thing ever) and Marina is my name. I still use it because I think it sounds cute. A bit cheesy, I know.

i started using cannibalcow like 6 years ago when i wanted a new username. my old one was button9 after the formula 1 driver jenson button, and i thought that was a little too 'cute' i just wanted something new.
so... my nickname in real life is 'Kuen' which means the cow. so i added a touch of creepy to it (a little inspired by cannibal corpse aswell) and got cannibalcow it's perfect.

Skeen is the heroine in a series of really awful books. She's cool, the books were not.

Kaninchen is German for rabbit. It seems that throughout my life I've been some version of rabbit by family friends and the lot. My aunt called me hoppy. My grandmother called me bunny. A boyfriend called me little rabbit, and that stuck well into the early days of internet usernames until around 2000 I settled on an unrelated song lyric. Not knowing any of this, my husband started calling me kaninchen. It has a lovely sound to it, and after 10 years of the same username for everywhere and everything I thought I could use a change.

I was crazy into I.C.P. around the time I was 21, and every CD they put out said 'dedicated to the butterfly'. it wasn't until a few years later that they published what it meant in one of their CD books - but by then I was all about butterflies. hearing the explanation made it even better. (search dedicated to the butterfly if you wanna see it - be warned - there is inappropriate language.)
I slanged it up and went with buddafly (pronounced buh-dah-fly... not boo-dah-fly, like everyone wants to say due to a little chubby dude named buddah)

Skeen, I'd be super interested what series it was. I have a thing for 'bad' books :P
Anyways... I've had my username all over the interwebs for about 10 years now... Man I feel old. I'm an anime fan (though have been out of the loop for years), so I just picked a couple of Japenese words & stuck 'em together. Tsuki, if I remember correctly, is a martial arts move involving a thrusting motion w/ your arm & fist. Kakushi, as in something hidden or concealed. Of course both words have multiple translations, & I'm not even sure if those translations are entirely accurate. I never did have the aptitude to learn a 2nd language...

Interesting topic :P
I was at a time where I wanted a more powerful statement and less age-obvious username other than previous:
"gingerkittens777"
"i_m_a_cat_luver"
"Racoon"
Feel free to guess my age at those times XD
Oh, and a username that wasn't as specifically princessy as:
"kastiela"
"Enigma" was out of the question because it would be used by most sites anyway.. So I threw on a sort of feminine suffix and I got something probably more unique P: It works, because I like the nicknames like "eni" that comes with it.

Lets see....my full user name started 12 years ago on ebay as Nsunshinejones....The N because my name is Nykee (Said like Nike...don't need a nick name when no one can believe ur real name!!!) and Sunshine cause my mother always sang "You are my sunshine..." and jones because when I was 18 I was to be married to a man with the last name of jones (I planned that when we had a baby, his or her name was to be Indiana!!!) but he later commited suicide on our wedding day
So on ebay I still hold the name Nsunshinejones but everywhere else, it is Nsunshine! Guess I divorced my old username and dropped the last part!
great topic actually!!!

Star_Flare is the name of my pony persona. I lurked here for a bit before joining, saw most people had pony personas, came up with what she looked like, then I came up with her name.
