Yoga or pilates DVD recommendations??

I've never tried either before but I'd like to work on my flexibility, posture and balance. Anyone have any suggestions on a good DVD I could do at home?? All my local classes are too expensive for my budget. I would certainly be a beginner but it would be great if it had levels you could work up to. Thanks for any info

I know it's not a DVD, but do you have a Wii? WiiFit is pretty good, and there's all kinds of things to do, yoga included. Sorry if it's not what you're looking for, but I had to recommend it because I like it.

My first question for you is, do you have Netflix? There are several good Pilates and Yoga workouts available for instant streaming if you do.

I recommend:
"10 Minute Solution: Yoga"
"Crunch: Candle Light Yoga"
"10 Minute Solution: Pilates"

The first and last are broken into short segments that you can link together or do alone. I've been dancing my whole life but am certainly a novice in Yoga and Pilates. These workouts appeal to me for being challenging but also being very clear with instruction and cuing. If you give them a try, I hope you will like them too.

Dang I wonder if those are on the Canadian Netflix too, because I've been thinking of Yoga for myself since I can't work out very intensely.

I do have a Wii, I've been thinking about getting the Wii Fit but didn't know you could do that with it too or if it was actually a decent workout. I don't have Netflix but thanks for the suggestions!!!

Yeah it's a pretty good workout. It gives you a daily body test and logs the time and calories as you go. There's also some pretty fun balance games. You can make custom routines too. I definitely recommend it.

I recommend the 10 Minute Solutions Pilates DVD. It uses resistance bands and also has a good stretching section. It was the first thing I started using after a severe back injury laid me up for almost 2 years, so, it's a good start for someone who hasn't done Pilates before.
