I used to when I was a teenager, and I miss him still.
His name was Hero and he was in his 20's, a bay Thoroughbred/Quarter Horse cross gelding. I'd been on and around other horses before him, but he was amazing. Completely bomb proof, very gentle and sweet, I won three 2nd place ribbons at my very first show. Everyone loved him, and it was a shame to have to let him go, but he was happy in his new home.
Today owning a horse is impossible, they cost way too much and I don't have a place for one anyway, it'd barely have any room to turn around in my bachelor suite!
Hopefully one day I will have a horse again, or even get to ride again. I've cared for about 50 horses in my life so far both volunteer work and paid positions, and it sure was a difficult transition to go from that, to being on disability because of my illnesses and having to accept them.
