Hello!

Hello Everyone!

Just a short message to introduce myself to you all! I have been lurking for a few days and thought I should come and join in the fun!

I am a mum of two little girls, aged 6 and 3, who have just discovered "old" My Little Ponies, and are fascinated at the fact that I used to have them as a child! So, in trying to encourage their new hobby, I have begun collecting the "oldies" again, myself! So here I find myself scouring places like eBay for well loved ponies for my girls, and mint versions for me! He, he...

I can't tell you (although you probably all know!) the sheer delight I get whenever I open a new delivery that has usually come halfway across the globe and there is an old friend inside! It's like being a kid all over again, but even better, because now I don't have to wash the car for pocket money to add to my pony stash.....

Looking forward to meeting you all!!!

Kristie...aka goodweatherpony.

Welcome! I have recently been rediscovering my collection, which has traveled, untouched, with me for the last ten years. And the other day I got my first shipment of ponies in at least that many years. So, I completely understand how you are feeling about finding old friends. I hope you enjoy the wonderful people on this board and have fun building your collection!

That's an AWESOME statement, Bahahaha! So true!

Even more truthful is what you describe, the total sense of joy and excitement when recieving a new ponies - Takes you right down Memory Lane doesn't it?

I think that's how most people start to collect, I'm no exception; I was being horribly stressed out, sick, fighting depression in my late teens when I randomly found my old Rollerskating Melody and was amazed that she stll had her little discman clinging to her.
That was just love - I sat down and watched the old movie and just wallowed and got comforted by all the loving memories of my pony playing.

Attempting to find my very fist pony, a dingy Italy Applejack, and realizing my mom had given her away or tossed her out, I went online to look for more ponies/a replacement, as AJ is my all-time favorite.

I became even more amazed with the fact people were uniting and collecting via the (old) MLPTP from all over the world, and it didn't take long before I joined in myself and here I am today, some 9+ years later :P

On a sidenote, Applejack and I were reunited a year later-ish after I joined the TP, when my niece recovered him and gave him back to me on my Birthday Now that was one of the most beautiful moments in my life, my faithful companion returning to me, so I can totally relate to what you say about meeting old friends again.

Lastly, before this post gets too long, that's so wonderful your kids are fascinated by the old ponies and not just modern toys/ponies! But yes, hehe, keep the mint ones to yourself Good luck in your collecting and welcome to the Trading Post!

Hi Goodweather! (love that pony btw!) Glad you've come out of lurking to join us!

Sounds like collecting with your girls will be a great time. Good luck hunting all those you need. We have many people who sell ponies here and you can usually save a good bit on ship costs as most people here only charge actual ship

If you need help with anything, just let us know!

What an awesome pony choice for your name!

Welcome to the TP! I started collecting to replace my missed childhood ponies. I'm hoping to someday pass on the pony love to my future children.

I'm sure you'll have no problem finding lots of ponies for you and your daughters here. Although your wallet may not like it so much. lol. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. See ya around the boards!
