I need to vent... Stupid Target this morning!!!
Ok I live about 45 minutes to an hour away from the Niagara Falls Target. Anyways I called the Buffalo Target and asked if they had Northern Lights and Winter Ice and I told them it would be by the checkouts. Anyways they said they didn't have them yet. So I call down to the Niagara Falls Target and I asked them the same question and they said yes they had them! So I got myself and my 9 month old son ready to go there and we were on our way. I have never gone over the Rainbow Bridge which takes me to Niagara Falls NY so I ask the guy at the booth how I got to the 62 which is Niagara Falls Blvd and he did'nt know. So I guessed anyways and I got lost, and back tracked and finally founnd my way to the Target. I get there and I am all excited and I go checkout to checkout finally I was done and I was empty handed!!! I went to the customer service desk and told them that I had called and told her what the lady told me on the phone. And she tells me the only page was yes they have the baby ponies, the lady who checked for me on the phone just cjecked to see if they had baby ponies and didn't even bother to check if those 2 winter babies were there. That made me soooooooooooooooo mad!!!
So then I decided that I was going to go to another one sice I was already over in the US and I drove another 20 minutes down the 62 till I found the next one and they didn't have them either.
So what a waste of my morning. I think I will stick going to my Walden Target in Buffalo.
Thanks for letting me vent!

argh, sometimes employees get lazy like that. i remember when i was first searching for penny candy and butter drop, i asked the target person to describe them to make sure it was the ones i was looking for. it really makes me wish each wave had a different DCPI#. :/

What is it with department-store employees; it's like they don't know anything!!  Sometimes, I feel as if they have brains the size of apricots. I'm sorry about what happened. There have been times where I've had to drive all the way to my Target to look for something new, and they don't have it, and I have to leave empty-handed. Trips like that suck.

Ugh, that really stinks! My targets here in IL take forever to get new things so I always wait at least 2 weeks from the time the were first spotted before I waste my gas driving to the 7 targets I know of within 50 miles of my apt  The midwest/ east coast never get new ponies as fast as the west coast, but I know what a bummer that is especially when you called first!

That's very frustrating indeed. On a side note...you're mentioning places that aren't far from me! Have you ever heard of the Walden Ave flea market? It's on...obviously...Walden Ave in Buffalo and that's where I used to have good luck finding ponies. And the rainbow bridge is how we always go to Canada, usually to go to Toronto.

well, i don't blame them for being ignorant... i certainly wouldn't expect a minimum-wage employee to know everything there is to know about every item in the store. but that was a case of just not listening, and that DOES bug me.

Thats awesome Sherbert!!! I usually take the Peace Bridge to get to Walden Avenue and I usually hit K-Mart, Target and Wal-Mart. And I did not know that there was a flea market on Walden Avenue. Which side is it on, the K-Mart or Target side? Maybe we could meet up somewhere, sometime
I live in Welland which is about a 20 minute drive to the Peace Bridge for me, where abouts are you?

That happened to me too. I called ahead asking for the 2004 Easter Ponies, was told that they were in stock, drove 30 minutes to get to the closest Target, and there were none. I asked an associate and was promptly told, "We didn't get those in yet." I flipped out more than I probably should have and called them all a bunch of retards and told them to get their **** straight when a customer calls ahead. They never did get those Ponies in. I ended up buying them on eBay.
Another time, I called ahead, asking if the exclusive plushies (the first set, I think) were in stock. Before I could even finish asking, the guy snapped at me, "We're not allowed to hold collectible items for customers, even if you do live far away." I was totally fucked off. That wasn't even what I wanted. I just wanted to know if they were in stock so that I didn't have to waste the gas if they weren't. I never mentioned holding any merchandise for me.
Since then, I only go to Target when I have to go to other places in the area. I can't wait until Uniontown's Target opens. It'll be so much closer.

That was very rude of him! I called Target when the first winter ponies came out and the guy told me that they were in and he grabbed one of each and had them put on hold until I got there and I was coming from Canada and he gave me directions (That was my first time to the Niagara Falls Target)

I think Targets have a reputation for being rude asses (at least from the stories I've heard, and what I've experienced). And I understand they don't know everything about every item in the store (I'm a cashier at Wal-Mart, and I don't know a whole lot). But you don't have to be an idiot to know that each individual MLP have names, and when a customer calls asking if you have ______ and ______ MLP babies at the checkout stands, you don't just glance down the isle and think Oh, there's some babies - yep, we've got em!
I hope that makes sense. What I'm saying is, the employee should have at least looked at the babies in the checkouts, to see what their names were. If it were me (calling Target), I would have emphasized that the babies have scarfs.
