Following on from Stuff inside ponies

Do you prefer to buy your ponies thoroughly and properly cleaned, or clean them yourself?

I'm a clean them myself girl, although I'd be having second thoughts if I ever found anything as yucky as bugs in a pony. It's kind of like a welcoming ritual, and I've missed doing it with ponies that have come in gorgeous condition. I don't always behead and bath, but I will if I see even a hint of mold or tail rust. What an appropriate smiley.

The whole several days to dry thing is a bit naff though.

I'm happy with either. I love to buy a big lot of dirty ponies and clean them up myself but it's also nice to buy a minty pony and just pop her straight on the shelf

if they are sold dirty, i would prefer to clean them myself, unless they know how to clean them without harming anything on them (eyes, symbols, flock or hair). when i get it i know what i want done to it to make sure it is clean.

I definitely prefer to buy ponies that are already clean. I don't really like cleaning the inside of them but don't mind doing the outside, I always go over them with a light scrub on the outside but I'm always worried if they're dirty on the outside they're probably dirty on the inside.

It's more appealing to me if the pony is already dazzling, although I do like getting a good deal on a pony who is dirty but clearly just needs some scrubbing.

I always clean them myself - even if they come to me clean. I need to know that there's nothing inside my pony waiting for me and I like their heads to be removable so I can periodically check for mould and other things since I live in a pretty humid climate.

I thoroughly enjoy cleaning them. I'll even clean a minty pony as I like to know exactly where they might have picked up germs from!

I like to clean them myself unless it's one I paid out the butt for. That way, I know they were cleaned to my specifications with products I know are wonderful and won't harm any part of the pony.

When I buy from other collectors I usually take their word that the pony is clean.

I agree with this. I do the same thing, though I'm still trying out my cleaning techniques.
