Interesting! She's a pretty girl. Interesting price, but she is really cute..

Is it true that Mexicans used to be super expesnive years ago? I'm sure I've read on the boards that when Mexicans first surfaced they often went for big prices and now heaps of them are plentiful and very affordable . . . hope that happens one day for the Columbians too!

Oh yes... very true. I think on average, a Mexican pony would sell for $200 at least. I remember back in the day, CP ponies would sell for at least $60, and the more sought after ones would sell for almost $300. The whole thing was that some of the Mexis had never been seen before, so they were super rare to collectors. As Pika said, same goes for other countries. I've heard that German ponies would sell for a few hundred dollars too a long time ago.
Let's hope Colombia opens up and more ponies start surfacing...

LOL! The most I've ever paid for a Mexican pony is like $65, and she was one of the rarest ones. If you ebay enough, you can get even the rare ones for about $15, and all of mine have cleaned up really nicely. Seriously. I think I'm happy I was poor when I first "discovered" variant ponies.
So yes, hopefully, with all the Columbian ponies popping up on ebay, maybe their prices will go down a bit. Out of the 4-digit range, anyway.

There was a time when any non-US pony sold for easily $50 . . . even collector-pose Applejack, ha ha! Before there were a lot of non-US collectors to spread the ponies to the rest of the market.
(Anyone remember the eBay seller Esk? Who stubbornly continued putting $30 reserves on every single international pony even after the prices dropped?)

I really hope that the prices do drop on these. I'd love to get some of the babies. They'll really have to drop for me to afford them though.

Well, in a sense, they have started to drop slowly already. If this was last year, this pony (and many others that have not met their reserves or BIN) would've sold already. Some collectors bought some of these Colombian ponies for over $1000, and now are having problems selling them for that amount or less, so I think with time, prices will drope *crosses hooves*

i know that pony. its sosilvers pony. he sadly has to part from it after getting it not that long ago. its hard to to buy a rare expensive pony and then having to sell it when money starts getting tight. those columbian babies like to come with stars and as a pegasus.
