Current misleading MLP auction ebay pictures

Has anyone else noticed the ebay auctions with the misleading pictures of common ponies, obvious used condition, in clear bags?

They provide very little information about each pony. No non collectors store ponies in bags like that and they are CLEARLY not mail order ponies...come on ...we are talking so softs with flocking rubs and faded hair here!

It's so shady. It's like they are trying to trick us into thinking they are mail order. They have other toys on auctions up, some are and some are not in these plastic bags.

Anyone have any other ideas about this? Maybe I am being harsh. Ebay is such a scam fest these days with misleading, dishonest sellers that I am wary of everything!

I don't know which auctions you're talking about, but I think maybe they're not trying to be misleading, just lazy. Maybe they just have everything packed in plastic baggies (I know a lot of people store for sale ponies like that) and they were lazy about pics, so they didn't take them out of the bag. Do they say anything in the description or is it one of those "AS IS" type of things?

They don't appear to be in ziplock bags. They look like they were Eurosealed hehe. The auctions say "item is in fair condition, not mint" but that is all the auction says.

Someone else pointed out that maybe they just do that to keep them dust free. Since their auctions don't advertise them as new, I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. I thought it would still be good to mention for the new collectors here who might not realize they were not mail orders or MIB.

I saw those auctions too, and originally thought the same thing! But after looking a little more at what they sold/what they have for sale, I kind of get the impression that they are just vintage toy dealers who want the ponies in "professionally sealed" packaging....kind of like when people would put beanie babies in those clear cases to look more desirable. I dont think they know enough about ponies to be trying to trick us, but who knows?! lol

I agree with you though, ebay has sort of turned into a free for all for scamming, misleading photos/descriptions, and inflated shipping :/ lol
