trust me.... that will do the trick!
We bred Pugs for 4 years.
I made birth certifcates complete with baby pics of each pup.

I met lots of people - one spouse wanting the pup.. the other spouse not sure they wanted a Pug.
But literally within 10 mintues of meeting the pups... both people were freaking out! lol

But always meet the sire and dam first. (The parents of the pups).
Check out their living conditions.
Temperment.
Check for runny noses, coughing, dirty ears, etc...

Possibly consider a Puggle - only because they dont suffer from labored breathing like most Pugs do.

I personally bred my Pugs to be larger than the AKC standard called for.
Akc says no Pug should weigh over 18lbs.
Ha!!... Here is one of my pups all grown up - I do still own him - his name is "Haunsel"
Tops the scales at 36lbs.

Haunsel is Yoshi's Son ~

THAT is a brilliant idea! My boyfriend loves beagles (well, I do too, but I love most dogs), and for our next dog, we are leaning towards a mixed-breed because they are healthier in general. And thank you for the tip about checking out the dog's parents, as well. Now if we could just get this move over with so I can start looking for another dog. Haha. (Not that I don't love my dog, but she desperately needs a canine companion.)

A good compremise between you and your man!

Just remember, hun.. even with mixed breeds... ask to meet the parents of the litter.
Try not to buy from a Pet Store.
These stores buy from "Puppy Mills".
If you dont know what a puppy mill is... look it up on youtube.
You'll understand once you see.
