Show & TellThis board is for members to let loose and brag about their good finds, and collections. Post here about your auction wins, flea-market finds, gifts, collection photos, pony room, and/or find out just how good of a deal you got.
Let's share every pony! I'd love to see pics of people's restoration projects. Whether it's just bath time for a horribly manky pony or if you seriously had to do some work to get that girl (or boy) back to their former glory. Like painting, sunfading, or rehairing. I would love to see some alternate rehairs, too.
Before AND after pics would be awesome. But if you only have after pics, that's cool, too. Share your restore stories and ponies with us!
I like the idea of this!
I happen to have some to hand; not a real restoration but this lady was quite grubby with straw like hair, she is on her way to a new lease of life!
Restauration pics! A collegae of mine found a Boysenberry Pie for me and some other ponies at the thrift store where I work. Said it was beyond rescue because she had no hair left. It took me quite some work to remove her head and when I finally found the right tools for that - a pair of Covas scissors and lots of hot water& soap- my long and tedious labour began: rehaired her with special doll's hair I bought from my hair dresser and it took me two nights to sew it all in, but it was well worth it I think!
Sorry for the bad quality of the after-pics (they were taken by night right after I finished).
Not really a restauration, but rather a custom. Because I really love the movie Snow White And The Huntsman, I decided to custom an old Glory with no tail and with faided symbols into a Snow White Pony. She's not finished yet (couldn't yet decide on the hair length and also I still have to look for a more suitable symbol -this one's supposed to represent the life tree like the symbol Snow White has on her shield in the movie) but I'm very proud of the result so far! Way better than the old and faided Glory she was. To bad I don't have a before picture though...
