I haven't tried to change my avatar or signature in ages on the tp and for some reason I can't figure out how to do it for the life of me. Can someone please help?

In the menu at the top of the page. Go to the User CP,
That screen will have a (left hand) side menu. Both options you're looking for is under Settings & Options
