How do you insert a pic into a post?

Hi guys! I have been inserting pics but they only show up as attachments. I figured out how to leave a glitter graphic comment by copying and pasting the URL into the "add a link" option. But I cannot get my pictures from my computer to show up big. I don't have my pics stored anywhere where there they have a URL I just want to upload them directly from my computer and have them appear normally, not as a little attachment. Please help me figure out what to do

In order to post pictures not as an attachment, they need to be hosted somewhere. If you don't want to use an image hosting site like photobucket, tiny pic, or image shack, you can upload the photos directly to your albums that you can create in your user profile, and then use those URL's like you did for the glitter comment.
