HTF item goes missing in a lot...What to do?
Hi everyone!
I did a BIN on ebay for a lot of items. There were two MLP items in the lot, the rest non-MLP. I really really wanted the one particular MLP item. I was SO excited to have found it! I paid right away. A day or so later I get an email saying that one of the ponies went missing and she can't find it anywhere. I email her back stating that I only purchased the lot for the one MLP and I describe it. She then says that she believes the pony I want was still there and that she already sent the lot but will also send a full refund. Sweet!
Well, of course the rare pony was not in the lot. :( I have a pretty bad feeling that someone contacted her about it and maybe sold it to them instead. What should I do? She was nice enough to give a full refund but I still feel a bit cheated since I was looking forward to having this pony. :(
Is there a way to have ebay investigate? What feedback would you leave? Should I just call it a day and forget about it?
Thanks in advance!

That sounds really fishy--missing the rare pony. Even though you got a refund, I would leave neutral feedback.

I am sorry that this has happened to you but I think in this instance I would leave positive feedback.
Sure you didn't get the item you wanted, but you got the rest of the items for free. I would say their communication and refund was good, even if you are thoroughly disappointed that the item you wanted was not in the lot.

I agree with Gypsy. I'm sorry. You should still leave positive feedback, but don't leave 5 stars for the item description, etc. She was kind enough to offer a full refund for you. :/
But, she probably did get a higher offer on the pony that you wanted, so she sold it. I'm sorry. *hugs*

Geez, some sellers are so sleezy! I've heard of this exact thing happening to other collectors before, so you are not the first to have a rare pony "mysteriously" missing from a pony lot. It's just sad how greedy people get sometimes. >.<
Personally, I'd still leave a neutral. Sure they were "nice" enough to give you a refund, but I'm pretty sure it's only because someone offered them a large sum for that rare pony. I think other buyers would appreciate being warned that the seller may pull something similar in the future. But that's just me.

I hate to say this is happening a lot lately. Someone wins a lot with a hidden rare pony and all of a sudden it goes missing. I would not leave positive feedback. I would leave a Neutral and explain why.

I would leave neutral feedback, explaining that while she did issue a full refund, one of the items you really wanted was "missing" from the lot.
I'd say that she received an offer for the pony you wanted, and it was probably higher than what the lot sold for. That's why she had no problem issuing a full refund.
I really hope that if that is what happened, it was no one in the community. We've discussed this topic to death, and everyone knows that it's looked down upon.

I'd leave neutral too, explaining exactly what happened.. refund and all. The whole situation sounds fishy.. and while you *did* get free stuff.. I still bet she is full of BS and other people should be warned. If people consistently say nothing when sellers do this, the practice will keep happening.

Same old song and dance - person wins a rare item in a lot, person receives lot, and the rare item is missing. This has happened before, at least twice or more that I can remember, and I'm beginning to wonder if it's the same sneak in every auction messaging sellers and offering them a better price than what the whole lot actually went for.
It's dishonest, and it's disgusting. I'm tempted to tell you to call her on it and demand the truth, but that wouldn't get you your rare item.
This is all over plastic toys. Disgusting.

Sounds like what happened to me on ebay too with my baby sapphire lot ( except I didnt have any ponies sent to me - the seller said she accidently sent them to a charity shop! I got my money back but no ponies plus I had a battle with that seller -she was vile and rude).
I'd leave a neutral as well because it really does sound like she got a better offer for the rare pony. She could probably afford to send you your other stuff for free with all the extra money she got selling the rare pony without being out of pocket....
ugh! whats with some of these sellers lately?! I know how you feel and I can totally sympathize
