issue with Whippetluv (x-posted from Arena)

It was through the Trader Support at the Arena that I was able to get back into contact with Whippetluv. I was advised by the Arena Mods on how to handle this situation, including their suggestion that I post it here since the issue started here on the TP.

I have simplied copied and pasted my thread from the Arena. It was a thread I modified a few times, keeping the modifications in there with dates...so the order is from bottom to top.

I did receive a custom from Whippetluv. I am very disappointed in the quality of work, and I have received guidance from the Mods on how to handle this situation, this thread, and feedback.

I would like to provide more details in hopes that this wont happen to someone else. I have kept all my PM's to her and all hers to me at the TP as well as our emails.

Whippetluv created a post at the TP last Sept asking for someone to do a personal Halloween swap with her, so I PM'd her. We agreed on a shipping deadline of 10-14-11. She received my custom in Oct and replied on 10-30-11 saying:
"YES she arrived and is wonderful! What a fun theme for her. I put her with my Fair Pony and they make a great pair. Makes me want to make myself a scarab custom now! "

After running weeks past the deadline, her first excuse 11/20/2011 was that it was boxed and ready to mail and that her roommate accidently threw it away in the garbage. She offered to pay for mine or make it over. I'm a fan of her work so I wanted it made over and she said she would start 11/22/2011. I hear nothing for a few months, so I send her a PM. On 2/20/2012 she said she would finisher her that week and get her in the mail. that was the last I heard from her until my trader support thread where others helped me get in contact. Her next excuse 4/26/12 was that her pony room had flooded so she had packed ponies up including the custom but that I would love her.
After telling me more than once the past couple weeks that she was mailing it "today" she finally emailed me a delivery confirmation number.

I first contacted the Mods as they were aware of this thread, asking what I should do since I had waited 8 months and was disappointed in what I received.

Following their advice, I contacted Whippetluv to let her know how I felt, saying

"The custom and extras arrived safely.
I have to say though that I'm disappointed in the quality of the custom, especially with the number of months it took to complete. I've seen your beautiful work first-hand, and this custom is just way below the standard I was expecting.
I wanted to let you know how I feel before leaving any kind of feedback."

note: the extras are 2 g3 breezies and a couple cheap halloween goodies


She replied:
"Thats actually kinda funny because I felt the same way about the one I got from you. Poorly sculpted hair and rudementry snakes that had nothing to do with Halloween. It was nothing like the elaborate customs you had at the fair last year. I will be glad to mail it back to you."

This is contrarty to what she told me 8 months ago. If she had told me then that she was unhappy, I would have worked with her to fix it, but she sounded happy in the reply I quoted above.

Her list for the "Halloween" swap did include Egyptian customs and I know she likes snakes so I melded those. She also, did not make a Halloween custom, but chose "dragon" from my list.
I have let her know that I would be happy to take my now-unwanted custom back. I also told her that I will mail this one back to her if she wants, but I asked that since it took so long to get this one that she mail mine first (with DC#) so that I know it's been mailed. That email was 6-12-12 and I have not received a reply yet.

I have been advised to also post this at the TP since that's where this started.

I was in contact with her briefly on 4/26. she said she'd had a flood in her basement and packaged things up including my custom..and asked for my address

I have not heard from her since then, and I have not received the pony. I emailed her again on 5/11 (2 weeks after she asked for my address)

I know she's more on the MLPTP
but I'm still waiting on my custom from halloween from her (she has already received the custom I made for her)...there was an issue and she needed to remake the custom, so we *were* in contact

but...the last PM I had from her was Feb 20, 2012 as a reply to the PM I sent her asking if it was done, and her reply was that she would finish painting it that week

she's usually so good so I've been patient...but I've PM'd her on the following dates with no reply

Hi Roogna. I'm sorry to hear things are going so badly with Whippetluv. As far as I know, this is the first the mods have heard about this.
I'm not sure what more we can do now that the trade has been completed other than to advise you to leave honest and accurate feedback on Whippetluv's profile feedback.
If there is anything we can do to help you, please PM myself or another mod and we'll do our best.

And this is where I'll step in.

I was the one that saw the post by Roogna on the Arena, and offered to contact Whippet through Facebook for her as we were friends over there. She said that Roogna should email her regarding the custom and gave me her email addres, which I passed on. I heard nothing more from Whippet until Roogna updated saying SHE heard nothing on her end from Whippet - which I believe was several weeks to a month later. I again messaged Whippet over on Facebook saying that I could not help her further should the mods decide to take action against her and her lack of contact. She sent me...a snappy reply back saying neither of us had emailed her, her facebook account was not be used as a messaging system, and she didn't have time to mail out the custom, and she'd mail out that Friday. She then de-friended me, then I guess regretted it, because she sent me a friend request later. It was at that point that while I kept asking for updates over at the Arena from Roogna, I decided it best I stop contacting Whippet. Roogna had Whippet's email address by that point, so there was little need for me to be involved further.

Looks like I threw away the custom you sent me. Sorry i told you I liked it. I was trying to spare your feelings. Feel free to trash it and write neg feedback since it was late and you didnt like it. Also feel free to post pictures of the one you sent me...and compare it to your other customs. The world can judge for themselves.
I am done with this trade. You sent me a custom. I sent you one. We are done. I asked you to email me because I am never on the arena. You only emailed me occationally and its all been very pleasent amd not angry and snarky like you have been here.
I am sorry I lost you as a friend Erin...I was tried of the two faced attitude of Roogna and how she was using our frirndahip status online.
Reguardless....leave feedback as you see fit and move on. I dont need the drama.
