How would I clean that without damaging her delicate flocking? I am freaking out right now. She must have been knocked off my display somehow and Rainbow decided she looked like a potty. She's actually really sick and should have died about a month ago, but she just keeps on truckin'! So, her kidneys were shutting down and they stopped producing urine, but now they are producing urine again and are working just fine, but she's still have urge problems.

Eeee....o_O What do I do?? The urine looks like it might have happened sometime over night so it's several hours old.

I believe you can wash so-softs in diluted bleach, which should take care of the smell and maybe the stain. Just use warm water, NOT HOT, and let her soak. Her hair will be dry when she comes out, but put some conditioner in her hair and let it sit for a little while and her hair should go back to being soft.

If you don't want to chance bleach, Sam's Club sells something called Odo-Ban... works fabulously on cat pee smells, old or new.

First see if the smell and stain will come out with a simple wash.
Rise her under lukewarm water and soap her gently with your fingers, rinse her really well.

(trick to keep SS's from getting that "pilled sweater" or, "matted" look)

With a fluffy dry towel quickly blot off all the water you can on her flocking. while you are doing this, also dry her with a hairdryer set on cool. Make sure her flock is completly dry.

If you airdry her she'll get a distinct "washed" look.

Ugh, just not an ideal situation with a SS... With cat pee, if it has any sort of odor to it, you'll probably need an enzyme solution like RVR mentioned to take care of the smell. I'd test the solution on a hoof first, though -- I know my solution looks a bit like dirty water, and it's supposed to air dry in place -- which can't be good for the flocking.

Oh no, that's terrible! Your poor cat, and your poor SS Heart Throb too! I laughed when I saw the title, but it's so sad about your kitty.

I wish you luck with fixing your So Soft! I just washed a SS Surprise the other day and didn't dry her properly so I'll have to dry her again. The bad thing is her chartreuse hair has stained her flocking. Bummer! But it's not as bad as cat urine, that stuff can really stink up the place!

There's a good chance those stains from her hair will come out Claire. :) Actually a way better chance since the flock sometimes washes better and doesn't let stuff seep in like normal ponies.

Ugh. That hair! love the colour, do NOT love how easy it stains. *hugs sandollar's and surprise's*

Ah! Great suggestions guys!! Thanks so much!! I'll have to experiment when I get home! :D :D :D

It's like, WHY off ALL my ponies, did it have to be one of the THREE so softs I have to fall and her pee on it?? LOL!

SS, actually, why kitty is doing amazing. It is seriously a miracle. She is 20 years old, and her health had been decreasing regularly. She had nerve damage in her front paws and couldn't walk, refused to eat or drink...it was bad. When we originally took her to the vet, the vet gave us the option of putting her down that day. She said my kitty's kidneys and liver were failing and had just a couple days to live, that'd she'd be lucky to live a week. So we took her home and I gave her some good food and just kept her in my room and loved on her, and she's only been improving. She's going poo regularly and it's good and solid, and she's producing urine again. For a while she would only pee clear, odorless liquid, but now it's urine.

It's truly a miracle. She's perky, and getting up and off my bed, meowing and jogging up to me when I come home every day. She's just doing awesome. I'm so happy :D :D :D :D

*hugs* that's wonderful news. :)
I'm happy to hear your kitty is doing better.

Thank you!! Me too...I've had her since before I can remember...I'm 21 and she's 20, so I really can't imagine life without her. And she's happy again..except when my puppies get past the gate to the loft hahaha they love the kitty waaaay too much...

Awww wow, 20 years? That is amazing, I'm so glad she's getting better. I could never imagine life without an animal that I've known all my life! Wow.

Thanks, FF, I'll try to fix up my Surprise. She needs some work! Her flocking is nice aside from the stain, but her hair is a different story. Hah.

Yes, she's a little frizzed-out! I think she still has some curl left- maybe I should try Angelus' method? I did that to my Sparkler and she looks great now.

My vote would be the attention she's getting. I know my kitty is an attention-hog. Shes 18, and still plays and "railroads" through the house.

Good luck with cleaning the pony!
