I hope this hasn't been posted before... if so then I will delete it but couldn't find a thread.

Just for a bit of fun...

How much have you spent on your MLP collection? I've spent around £100 on mine... And none of them have arrived yet! :vscared:

How do you display or store your ponies? Do you collect anything else?

At least a thousand. Average winger price ~15 x96= 1550ish. Yikes! That is a lot.

I REALLY don't want to think about it. Probably very little compared to some ( as most of mine came from thrifting) but.. if you factor in the gas? *cringe*

Hehe, sometimes it is better to try not to think about it! I don't want to think about how much I have spent on Pokemon stuff!

In the ... week ... I've been collecting I have spent $120.

Is my love for collecting obvious? Pshaw. No way.

I probably spent over $500 and I have no regrets

So far, I prolly spent over 100 in ponies.

ohhhhmg i was really hoping no one would bring this up LOL!! I don't want to think about it. Because I could not in any way shape or form justify it, were I to actually add it all up.... >.>

I think the justification is that it makes you happy. That is what I always tell the people who think I'm nuts for being a collector. I do it because it makes me happy and you can't put a price on genuine happiness.

I have only been collecting for one or two months but I am sure I have spent 70-80 dollars in one month's time. I also have more coming that I have just bought. :) I am kind of starting from scratch so I have been having a ton of fun looking for ponies. I am sure I will be spending lots more as time goes on.

I added up my Brazilians alone and it totaled well over a thousand, and I can think of a few ponies alone that added another couple thousand, so if I added EVERYTHING.....probably as much as my house costs.

Hm.... The G1s probably were $10 or so for each purchase... G3s ran me around $6 a piece... The three playsets were probably about $20 a piece... *does a bit of mental calculation*...

So.... about $500 or so? I only have about 70 ponies right now. Almost all of my G3s were purchased directly from the store and I currently have everyone stored away in a box in my room. But I do have plans for displaying them. I just have to get the design I want finished first.

I'm thinking... my loving family ponies will be each family in their own shadow box. Then Cotton Candy and Blossom will be together with their babies... Then the play sets will be displayed with the ponies they came with... And the loose ponies will go in a communal display case. I just have to figure out how many that is and how big it'll have to be.

I'm going with a uv-protective glass or plastic for the front. Fully sealed to prevent dust from getting in. I want my ponies happy and healthy!

Oh god, it just occurred to me that my rough figure doesn't include accessories, playsets, displays and shelves, or merchandise.

::goes to make sudden middle of the night call to insurance agent::

Literally thousands and thousands of dollars. :) Between G1, G2s, G3s, and G4...I can't even imagine what I've spent in the last 20+ years of collecting on my own. Not including the ponies I was given as a kid as presents. So yeah...!

I guess about 8,000 over the years?? But I don't feel too bad about it because, 1. That's spread over at least 14 years of collecting and 2. It's something that brings me joy. What's the point of working hard 5 days a week if you can't enjoy yourself sometimes ;)

I have no idea & don't even know where to start totalling it up, lol! I've been collecting for over 14 years (not counting childhood ponies) & most of what I'm actively buying now is rare & higher value. I would guess that I've spent well over my yearly salary on my collection... possibly more than 2 years salary! O_O

Honestly (and every one is going to hate me for this) not a whole ton. I have never spent more than $4.00 for an out of box pony including my entire g1 collection, and I am less than 50 shy of having the entire US series (excluding mail orders). I get much more of a kick in finding them than i do owning them, so I really like seeing how cheaply I can get them for.

I've had great luck though. Bought out a collection of over 300 plus many playsets and PILES of accessories for just under 500, several smaller collections (about 3 of them were between 60-120 ponies) for between 30-100 per collection and then my mom is just amazing at finding as well. She found an MIB baby princess baby buggy for 3 bucks, an Indian Blossom for 50cents and lots of random fantastic finds.

And yet through all my ridiculous luck with this I STILL can't find a Mimic lol.
