Honestly I can't decide who I like best >< they're all so awesome and so very special!

I've always liked Rainbow Dash, and she's so energetic and lively in the cartoon! But Applejack's so outgoing that she really catches my attention. Yet, Fluttershy is so cute and sweet and innocent. Still, Rarity is just SO glamorous! And who can forget Pinky Pie? That bouncing ball of fun is so funny! I don't really like Twilight Sparkle though :/ I'm sorry, I mean I still like her, bu not as much as the rest.

Anyway, enough about me, what about you?

Who's your favourite character? ;)

I really like rainbow dash, I'm always a fan of the more tomboyish characters. I also love rarity, she's so dramatic and such a drama queen! I can't decide either, but I'm tied between those two.

Rarity. :)

Hmm this is so tough for me because it seems to change a lot

In the beginning my favorite was Fluttershy...
But then I started to really like Twilight Sparkle as my favorite...
Now it's like a Tie between Twilight, Fluttershy, and Rainbow Dash...

Pinkie Pie has always been my least favorite.

So I think if I had to choose... today my order is...
Twilight Sparkle
Rainbow Dash
Fluttershy
Applejack
Rarity
Pinkie Pie

Pinkie Pie is my favortie as I find her absolutely hillarious.

On a close second is Fluttershy because I can relate to not really being a people person (or pony person in her case? <.< >.>)

Next on the list would be Applejack cuz' she's such a loveable character.

Rarity would be fourth as I find her to be abit too much of a dramaqueen but she sure does have her moments :p

Twilight Sparkle is fifth as I find her increadibly dull (sorry folks)

And lastly is Rainbow Dash whom I personaly don't like at all. I can't stand how full of herself she is. She's just downright obnoxious in my opinion. (Again, sorry folks :p )

Definitely Spike. But if I had to choose a favorite pony, Applejack. I don't really like Twilight Sparkle.

I'm I the only one who likes villains?

The Great and Powerful Trixie
Queen Crysalis
Nightmare Moon/Luna

Fluttershy is my favorite of the mane six
Pinkie Pie is also pretty great

Well from the first post I thought we where only referring to the mane six,

Anyways Princess Luna is my favorite Princess, Princess Celestia second, Cadence a far far far away last.. Should not be an Alicorn in my opinion...

As for villians very close race for me between Queen Chrysalis and Nightmare Moon for my favorite, second is King Sombra, next is Discord, last is Trixie.

As for background ponies my three favorites are Derpy, Lyra, and Bon Bon

Yeah, I was asking about the mane six, but you can let me know any of your fav characters!!! :D

I get a bit sad whenever I see people don't like Twilight Sparkle, mostly because I see a lot of myself in her. That, and my immediate response (annoyingly carried over from my teenage years) to seeing such remarks is "huh, well this person must not like me either, they must find me dull/a know-it-all/whatever negative qualities Twilight has that make her unlikable to some people.". It shouldn't bother me, especially since she's not even really my favorite character, but it still does to an extent. :sadpony:

Favorite character... Overall, I have to say Discord. He's just awesome. ...Plus I don't think they've ever topped The Return of Harmony episode. Luna has grown on me quite a bit since her last major-ish appearance, too.

Out of the Mane 6... Ehh, hard to say, I've grown kind of tired of all of them except Fluttershy. And Pinkie Pie... For some reason. I think Fluttershy is the one who comes closest to being a favorite, though. I love how they managed to play the "sweet and demure girl" type without it becoming annoying or old. Well played!

As for background ponies, I don't care about any of them. ...Except maybe Lyra, and that's because her silly (solo) antics were actually intentional on the part of the animators. And if I want to stretch it, I guess Octavia, if anything because her colors are so different from most ponies and she seems to give this serious, "take-no-crap" attitude that I usually don't care for but on her, I think it works for some reason.

Aww... It's not that I find Twilight Sparkle dull or anything like that, it's just that they make the other characters so colorful that Twilight seems less fun in comparison... But I do like her mental breakdown because of the parasprites. That was funny :)

Princess Lio - I dislike Twilight Sparkle because she embodies the traits about myself that I don't like. Rainbow Dash too. Twilight is a bit of a know-it-all, and I can be one at times. And my Rainbow Dash-like pride makes me hesitant to admit that. However, I like Applejack and to an extent Pinkie Pie because they embody my better qualities, work ethic an loyalty (Applejack), and love of life (Pinkie Pie).

And I totally forgot to mention that Octavia is my favorite background pony. Yay cellos!

I'm the same way when people talk about Rainbow Dash negatively, for me and my friend who is a girl and has to fight through the negative stereotypes that all tomboys are lesbians and all slightly deep voiced girls are lesbians... :(

p.s.

I really like Twilight, she's one of my top 5 favorite ponies. :) *hug*

Fluttershy is probably my favorite. It's between her and Applejack. Rarity is just ridiculous but she reminds me of a character I used to create when I was little, so I like her. I really can't stand Pinkie Pie. Twilight is ok, I think people aren't drawn to her because she's not as much of a caricature as the other 5.

My favourite is Rarity! She loves being girly and also loves make-up and fashion..just like moi! Rock-on ladies!

Fluttershy first because she is shy and like animals. Very much me. But Twilight second because of the Books!! I love books and reading. I'm an introvert at heart.

Though they all have qualities that I can relate to, RD and AJ are both Tomboy-ish which I can totally get behind. Always been one who's not afraid to get my hands dirty. Pinkie has a friendly-ness that extends to everyone and I can get along with just about anyone. And Rarity has a great creative side that I can relate to, as well. I think their diversity and myriad of talents and strengths is what make them so appealing as a show to a wide audience.

Well, as one of those who don't care for Twilight Sparkle and really dislike Rainbow Dash I can just say it has nothing to do with that Rainbow Dash is a tomboy (which I can be myself at times), or that she's anything but the stereotype of a girl. Nor has it anything to do with that Twilight Sparkle is a know-it-all etc (which I don't personaly think she is.)

The reason I find Twilight Sparkle dull is because (as mentioned) she does pale in comparison to the others. She's not quite as colorfull as they are. Meanwhile, taking a test to see which FIM character I'm most alike I'm apperently VERY much like her so XD Which I can see, I love reading and such aswell so :) Still find her dull even if I'm like her :p

As for Rainbow Dash. As I said it's not that she's a tomboy and break the female stereotype. It's the fact that she keps going around telling everyone how awesome she is and that she is completely full of herself. I can't stand people like that in real life and I can't stand her becase of that. Being proud of yourself and who you are is great - going around boasting about how awesome you are or in the case of the pet episode saying stuff like: "Do you really think you're awesome enough to be my pet?" just seriously rubbs me the wrong way. I would have thought the same about her even if she was a girlygirl, aslong as she keeps going around telling everyone how awesome she is.

Just my two cents to maybe help clarifying things so people don't feel all too offended ;)

Well, this is a tough one.

Mane 6:
Fluttershy
Rarity
Applejack
Twilight Sparkle
Rainbow Dash
Pinkie Pie

Fluttershy is m to a tee: shy, meek, and a total animal lover. While Rarity tends to be more reflective of me when I'm with close loved ones--I tend to be braver, more outgoing, and maybe even a little fabulous. As for the rest of the list...while AJ holds a strong 3rd place the others can be interchangeable. Though Pinkie Pie, while she does have some of the greatest lines in the show, is a firm last and just annoys me to pieces. Twilight and Dashie...they don't really represent anything about me or how I typically feel, so it is harder for me to feel connected to their characters. It does not make them any less awesome, just harder for me to bond towards.

Villains:
Discord
Queen Chrysalis
King Sombra (was sad he didn't get more facetime--his design was very appealing)
Nightmare Moon

Villians are so short lived it's hard to get good impressions of them. But Discord and Chrysalis solidified that Season 2 was the most epic season ever in my book. They were the most amazing villians. I was sad that King Sombra didn't get a larger role in his episode because I think they could have done interesting things with him, but the shorter season had to sacrifice his potential. His design is still very nice though and I hope he makes a comeback at some point. Nightmare Moon? She's awesome, and the story behind her transformation compelling, but she pales in comparison to the others in my book.

Royals:
Cadence
Luna
Celestia

I know lots of people don't like her...but I adore Cadence. The season finale with her just...all the heartstrings were pulled. Perhaps it's because her relationship with Shining Armor reminds me of my husband and I that gives me a soft spot for her. As for the royal sisters...Luna is my favorite. Her dream walking abilities, her past, and her struggle to come to grips with living in a modern society...that is the stuff of character development and awesomeness to me. Celestia is just put out there as already amazing and I have yet to see true proof that I should believe it, I guess.

Background Ponies:
Big Mac
Cutie Mark Crusaders
Dr. Whooves/Time Turner
Thunderlane

Big Mac...a stallion of few words which makes it all the more adorable when he does get more than a one-word line. The Hearts and Hooves Day episode? I died and went straight to pony heaven. It was charming and hilarious to hear him gush like a fool. And the Crusaders really need no greater reasons as to why they earned mention here--they are adorable and hilarious. My husband, being a Who fan, loves Time Turner and so I guess that has influenced me to enjoy seeing his random appearances too. And Thunderlane...I don't know what it is about him. Maybe it's the fact he saves Rarity from crashing to the ground in Season 3. Or his epic design. I can't put my finger on it, but I have loved seeing him.

Those are my notable favorites in a tiny nutshell anyway.
