Most common pony

Not sure but the most common one I have found is Baby Tiddly-Winks (all 3 are different shades of pink though lol)

Good question! I see more Cotton Candy and Butterscotches than anyone else I can think of. Might be regional, too.

I always find a lot of bowties, apple jacks, and sundances.

most common

I think it's a tie between Cotton Candy (so many releases!) and Peachy (then, a very popular set), with Sundance for 3rd, another very popular set. Although, I'd love to know.. where are all the Megans' that to with all those Sundances' ?

I'm finding I get lots of duplicates of Medley, Fizzy and Speedy. Doesn't mean they're the most common, though... I go also get multiple Cotton Candies, as well.

Interesting since Cotton Candy is part of the flat foot line which is allegedly the first line of g1 mlp toys to be released... you'd think they'd be much more htf.

Toys are always regional, but common on the collector's market reflects popularity with the kids. For 80's GI Joe, both Snake-Eyes and Storm Shadow were extremely popular characters, and v.1 Storm Shadow had one of the longest distributions in the whole line, something like 1984-1987, where most characters only got 2 seasons. However, Storm Shadow is *really* expensive for a complete v.1. I'm not surprised if MLP works like that, too.

How much more is Applejack going for as compared to other Ponies?

I've found 5 Bowties and all were missing their tails or covered in crayon. She may be common but I think I have bad luck with her.

Unless it's because of Applejack being a popular G4 as well...

From my experience, eBay is not really the best place to gauge MLP prices unless auctions are concerned, and even then there's the occasional fluke due to bidding wars and such. More often than not eBay sellers jack up the prices of ponies like it's nobody's business, often due to not knowing anything about the collector market and just going by the assumption that it's a collectible toy = expensive. Of course, this also results in rare ponies being priced down occasionally, which is kind of funny IMO.

To give you an idea, I had no idea about the value of ponies back before I joined the TP, and was eyeing a Sweet Notes on eBay for $15 at the time, but then I learned I could get one for, like, $7, which is what mine ended up costing. Needless to say, I pretty much stopped buying ponies on eBay (except Europeans like MLP Tales Patch).

Applejack's actual value is nowhere near $15-20, even if she's more sought after nowadays, there's still too many of her to justify that price tag.

PrincessLio - that sounds again, a lot like collecting GI Joe. I used to *vastly* overpay, not on eBay but with online collectible stores. Things got much better once I started joining Joe Forums.

Seriously, I don't know *anything* about G1, but *if* I see some in a thrift sale or anything, I'll see if I can get them. ilikebothg1andg4ponies, if I find an Applejack at decent prices, I'll let you know.

Hey all, I can't promise anything of course, but I'm getting interested in G1. If I find the goods, I'll spread them around.
