I never heard this story-it has a few gaps-why was Apple Jack in the forest in the first place? Not as "romantic" as I was expecting, but cute.

I love this story! I think it's so cute. I remeber CherryCake she was sweet.

I've seen bit's and pieces of this story on the interwebs before (searching G1 pony art brings a lot of good stuff) but it's nice to see it almost complete in one place, Thanks skygleamshine! Silly jewel wizard, you don't mess wif ponies!!

Yeah, I saw this on the tumbles a while back, it's a interesting story! It's called "Applejacks amazing adventure." A little over simplified, probably to meet a page limit and reading level of small kids. It'd be really cool to see it expanded on, though it's a bit hard to find G1 fanfics, I guess people just aren't interested in writing them. Also interesting how the crystal ponies' story in G4 seems to mix this story with "The return of Tambelon" episodes of G1. :)

For those of you who want to see the whole story,(though it's only short like 3 panels here) the blog "Heck Yeah Pony Scans!" has it all here on this post! http://heckyeahponyscans.tumblr.com/post/63730194370
Theres also a story that sort goes with it too, called "Fizzy and the flying fish" here: http://heckyeahponyscans.tumblr.com/post/30922070856

She has lots of other stories, the G1 comic are very trippy! I'd recommend reading some if you never have. :)

@Repeat OMG thanks for posting I have never seen that story! So cute I loved it. The UK had that cute pony comic, but in the US we never had that. I this it's soo sweet. The US never had too many explanations of why new ponies showed up. lol

No relation to the Jewel Wizard, I swear. :unsure:

We all know Hasbros the real Jewel Wizard. See they discovered in the 80s that the ponies were a virtual goldmine and they enslaved some of them in their factories to make more ponies but then an older pony saw that they weren't allowed to come outta the factory and play with the children so she kicked the rhinsestones loose so the big Hasbro suits would fall on their butts while they escaped to the packaging section and some of the rhinestones got lodged in their eye and lo! The twinkle eyes were born..........maaaan that is the worst story I've ever made up on the spot. Some writer! Pfeh!

I have known this story for quite some time.
I have never understand why this story is so "horrible" that kids should not read this... Evil wizard was swalloed.. nothing bad and bloody etc. It won't even say he was killed. Just a normal fairytale.. and nowdays some parents are freaking out because this kind of things.. -.-

I know right? These people have clearly forgotten their own childhoods. Neverending Story, Lion King, Black Cauldron, Mortal Kombat. Bunch of Morel Orels who wanna stick us with saccharine dog poo. Heh. Sorry its a bit of a rant of mine

I so feeeeeeeel you!!!!! :lolpony::winkpony:

Ponies imprisoned long enough to go blind, enslaved, forced to perform back-breaking manual labour, who then get chunks of broken throne lodged so deep in their eyes they're integrated into their actual biology...

...this is why I'll always be a G1 girl; the juxtaposition of super-bright whimsical ponies and their bizarre and dark backstories is just so unapologetically insane!

I don't know that ponies would be such good miners since they can't hold a pick axe...

Well perhaps they were making a vague reference to the atrocities of mine ponies and donkies who were blinded back in the day so they could haul heavy loads. And ponies in the G1 universe have weaved gardened and cooked with their mouths.
