I don't know if there's many members here that have played Animal Crossing New Leaf, but AC is my addiction.
And my game experience is being badly impacted because New Leaf has a function where the first character created on a game file is the "town Mayor", and you can't get rid of that character without destroying the entire town and everything in it.
....so naturally, my dilemma is I bought a used game, so it automatically started on someone else's game file and I didn't realize what was happening until I already started the game, knew nothing about the town mayor function and decided to continue that persons town cause I liked the layout, and I've been playing the game for weeks now with ton of progress, then found out that I can't eventually do the cool town upgrades unless my character is Mayor.
So I was wondering if anyone here is experienced with this game, would be manageable for me to load up the other person's character just to do the town upgrades? Or do the town upgrades only show up if their character does daily town experiences?
If I end up deleting the town and restarting a new one which is highly likely of an option at this point, am I able to save fruit, sacks of bells and my favorite hard-earned items in letters in the post office and have that stuff appear in my next town's post office's saved letters?
Cause that worked in like Game Cube Animal Crossing and other AC games, and it would make the transition more tolerable if using the other character just for mayor upgrade duties won't work.
