You might already be doing this but I normally let the pony sit in boiling water for a few seconds and then scrub. Maybe you could add some other type of soap to the water?

You could always ask someone else in these forums to deflock her for you if you’d like :)

If you need to protect yourself from chemical smells, may I suggest a heavy-duty filtering mask like VOGmask? Pricey for one pony, but will serve you for months <3

You can try soaking in HOT bleach water and then scraping as much flocking as possible. Then I would use some GooGone to get the remaining glue off.

Deflocking can be very frustrating and time consuming but once the pony is done they look fabulous.

Bleach would carry the same risk as the mentioned products.

My ‘secret’ weapon (credit goes to my hubby for finding it) is Elmer’s Sticky Out. It has very little scent (if any) and is safe on paint. It’s not as effective as acetone but much less harsh. Definitely soak her in boiling water and then scraping off as much flocking as possible first. Then use the Elmer’s for the glue and any residual fuzz.

By the way, I LOVE Twist deflocked! My husband was so taken with her that he now wants one for himself!

I send all my deflocks to @MLPMommy4Life in exchange for trades or some cash, as I have the same sensitivities as you do! She just happens to be my go-to, and I'm sure many others on the forum would be happy to help you as well.

As you can see, we are still building our FAQ section, but we hope to have more resources here in the future ;)

I have a Ribbon that is so severyly damaged (centimeters of flock are gone) so I am considering de-flocking her. I see of lot of people using acetone, won't that dissolve the symbols and eyes?

Acetone should be used on the body areas without paint, however, I used it on my deflock project (since I don’t have access to jasco) and the flock came out nicely w/o major rubs.
You could also put her in hot water and scrub it off, but since her hair is a bright neon yellow/green, I’m scared it’ll bleed :(

Thank you! I will take this into account ;)
