Say, you have a Cotton Candy. Her hair isn't cut, but her tail is gone. Her body has some marks otherwise...customize? Would you re-tail and sell her?
That's my delimma. I love alt-rehairs and am looking to bulk up my bait collection, but I'd hate to destroy something when I know others would buy a re-tailed one.

If she wasn’t already in my collection I would re-root with custom colours OR add a new tail. However I felt at the time tbh. Lol

This is what I do when I get tailless ponies in good condition (and I get a lot of them), I keep them until I find a baity pony with a good tail and then I replace their tail and then I sell the baity tailless pony :)
Guess patience is good to have, or something. :p Good idea, I'll have to start a tail artillery, I have a few maneless ones with tails that were gonna get rehaired anyway.

I have a bunch of g1 tails.

I don't have any suggestions, but I'm enjoying everyone's responses!

Also, the title of the thread keeps making me think of that old sea shanty "What Do You Do With a Drunken Sailor". :lolpony:

I’m considering getting a local lot with a tailless Lofty, but I’m afraid a nicer Lofty with her tail would cost less that the lot

There’s always the Dollyhair option for creating a new tail. BUT a new tail from whatever source has the potential to mismatch the mane because of fading. In my opinion, replacing just the tail makes the most sense when (1) the mane is in gorgeous condition (soft, uncut, colorful, etc.); (2) you are keeping the pony for yourself or giving her to a friend/relative; or (3) you don’t have the time to do a full custom re-root.
