It’s finally time you guys! (Well, on November 15) I can’t wait for this season. I was an MLP & TMNT girl and I can’t friggin waitto see these episodes.I love the history of toy lines and seeing the people who were responsible for creating our childhood friends is so interesting to me.

I just started watching this series today on Netflix and got up to the Hello Kitty episode :lolpony:

Can't wait to see MLP in it!

I'm going to go back and watch the other seasons first. I haven't seen any of them but it looks like a fun show. I too am looking forward to the MLP episode!

I watched the pony episode last night and really enjoyed it. Now to go back and watch the rest of the season. (The past two seasons were a lot of fun too).

I'm with gingerbread ^ :) for mlp, we'll give it a try.

I was just about to post a thread about this. I've been watching this show since the beginning and I was disappointed in this episode. First of all, I may be one of the few who didn't want them to film the episode. Anything that drives the prices up annoys me.

I didn't really care for the episode. They spent too much time with the bickering about who created the toy. They spent little time on the actual toy. I thought it was great having Lauren and Summer. Lauren's letter was the best part of the episode. I was super annoyed when they knocked Escape from Midnight Castle and suggested it was too scary for little girls. This is still my favourite pony cartoon of all time and I loved that they had a real villain and adventure plot. I was most annoyed that they didn't really interview any collectors. Lauren and Summer don't really count as regular collectors. Yet, they did interview a Brony. I was super grateful that he seemed like a decent fellow, but where were all the collectors from my generation? The generation My Little Pony was actually created for? Anyway, it wasn't terrible, I just felt it was one of their weaker episodes and that's disappointing.

And what was the deal with that gross Peachy they kept showing?

I saw it

Apparently @drusilla's collection was featured in the credits!

It was her Fluttershy collection photo that made the credits.

I think on a whole the new season kinda sucked. The TMNT one also really focused on the feud between the creators more than anything really.

As an artist, I would’ve like to have heard more about the symbol designs and the ideas behind them more. Or why they chose certain gimmicks over the years. I was also kind of annoyed that they skipped over G2, G3/3.5 and jumped right to G4 and FiM. Just felt like it was sloppily slapped together last minute. It was certainly disappointing.

I, too, was disappointed by the very hyped-up MLP episode. I have not watched the rest of the season because of it. It seemed like they did not want to have backlash for covering "too much" (if that is even how I mean it) and so, just glossed over everything. I agree too much time was spent on the creator feud. They did not go into as much detail as the actual TOYS other than what they were initially supposed to be based on Bonnie's design. Almost nothing on lines that came after or even babies and how Ember was the first, etc, etc, etc. Maybe it's because MLP is so big but they could've been more in depth. It was rather boring. No mention of Nirvana's or ponies around the world, Takara's, etc. Haven't they interviewed someone from Takara for previous episodes? Hello, get their take on Japan's MLP! I did not even watch it to the end. G2 was unfavorably mentioned but there are a few of us that do love G2 and still collect it. I agree it was nice to see Summer in it but there should have been more interviews with other non-celebrity collectors. They did not even touch on the annual MLP fair or books Summer did which is what she is known for! Ok, great, brony...yay but they have already had their own show. I was very underwhelmed by the episode and am no longer excited for them to continue the series because it is already losing what I have loved about it. Maybe I just need to get @MustBeJewel 's My Little Obsession DVD. I have wanted it but never got around to it.

My daughter was fascinated by the whole series. I was disappointed.

I’m so glad I found this thread! I was so upset when they knocked the original cartoon. Rescue at Midnight Castle was (is!) my favorite episode(s). Right up there with it is the Return of Tambalon and Escape from Catrina. They are both dark, but as a little girl I LOVED that! And Ember and Baby Moondancer were my favorite ponies as a kid, and they both get kidnapped in those episodes. I was really disappointed by the implication that those episodes were inappropriate for little girls. Also, Lauren’s comments about Rescue at Midnight Castle made me realize there’s probably a reason I haven’t cared that much for FiM. It’s totally cute, but there just isn’t real jeopardy like there was in the original cartoon. And it’s no wonder, since Lauren didn’t care for the dark aspects in the original. I’m glad I’m not the only one that was disappointed by that particular portion of the MLP episode.

I just watched the MLP episode the other day. It was okay. I enjoyed watching it, but like many, I wish they focused far more on the ponies.

The fact that they thought Escape from Midnight Castle was too scary for 80s girls just goes to show that they really weren't a company focused on girls. They just hit the jackpot with ponies.

Is anyone else kicking themselves for not writing to Hasbro and sending a few drawings? Lol.
