I started restoring ponies last summer as kind of self-prescribed occupational therapy to help me recover from an accident that had made me super isolated and not functioning well. Restoring and rehoming ponies has made such a difference in my health. The more I help ponies come out of the darkness and become loved again, the more I feel the same joy in return. Not sure half the time if I am restoring them or they are restoring ME ✨(I think it's a bit of both!)
SO grateful to my pony family and to everyone here in this lovely community.
Anyone else have a similar experience with the healing powers of ponies to share?

I make cuddle ponies and give them away free to people as friends. They are for if you need a little love in your life and are ment to be taken places hugged on and just loved. There made from older well loved ponies. I find making them and giving them to other makes me feel good inside.

I only got into this a couple months ago, but before that I was feeling a bit lost and not really sure what I wanted to do with my life. I had a job I didn’t like much, and I didn’t have anything I was really passionate about. Then I decided to take out my old collection of ponies and clean them up to sell, and unexpectedly fell in love with the whole process. It might sound silly, but I really do feel like it’s changed my life. Restoring ponies makes me happy and gives me something to look forward to in my free time. I don’t keep many of the ponies I fix up (I buy too many and would be in serious debt if I kept them all lol), but I feel like I’m doing something good making old things beautiful again and passing them on to people who will love them! It’s the most fulfilling thing I’ve done in a while.

I agree totally! I love bringing them back to life and sending them where they can be loved again : ) It's helped me out of some dark places of my own and it's the reason I get up in the morning. Thanks for sharing your story. Glad to hear from other pony helpers!

I started restoring them for the same reasons. This is why I seek the old and forgotten ones to clean them up and make them special so someone (aside from me) will love them again. It helps a lot for my ptsd and days that I need to sit in the dark because of my migraines.

Their peaceful gazes make the room happier too, and they seem to know when we feel down. They have caring souls : )
