I was thinking of all crazy scenarios we get into with our ponies and I thought it would be fun for us to have a thread to outlet our pony horror stories into haha. Whether its a pony clean up story, pony mess up, about the store you got it, or condition they were in!

I'll start with one of mine! When I was little, around 6 or maybe 5, my mom and I were driving home from a trip. It had rained all day and finally it stopped. There was a small yard sale/fleamarket out im not sure which there were lots of tables set up outside. There wasnt much there but on the way out i saw none other than the shape of a pony in the mud and I ran over to it and picked it up. It was a BowTie with a haircut, no tail, and coated in mud!! She must have fallen off the table and no one cared.

Luckily my mom was supportive and didnt care if the pony was in rough shape but whats worse is the man running the table tried to charge a fortune for her!! Even though she was discarded in mud and heavily damaged. My mom managed to get him to a reasonable price and I still have my Bowtie to this very day! Shes since been given a new tail, I kept her slight mane cut since it has character. She has a ton of smooze ive been gradually getting out over the years. Shes my favorite pony I own.<3

I'm glad you saved Bowtie!

Years ago I had ordered a G1 bed sheet set, it was shipped in a plastic mailing envelope. I wasn't careful enough opening the package and cut a corner through the pillowcase  the way it was folded it cut a square right in the middle of the pillowcase, like making a darn snowflake. It's been several years and it still bugs me to this day and now I'm very neurotic about carefully opening packages.

:cry: Ohh no!!!! That sounds awful!! Im so sorry that happened! I feel your pain only Im lucky mine wasnt a G1. I was cutting fabric for a project on my bed once and accidentally cut a whole in my g4 bedspread. I shouldnt have been cutting on the bed I was just tired. Never again!

Reminds me of the time when my daughter was little. I was getting back into collecting and I gave her a BBE Ribbon. At this time my husband was off work with a sprang ankle. We were driving down the road & my daughter had her window halfway down. She was playing with Baby Ribbon & letting the wind blow the pony’s hair. Well, Baby Ribbon must’ve winked out the window. lol Because the next minute my daughter is screaming Baby Ribbon. We had to pull over & go back. So my hubby is hoping towards Baby Ribbon and a semi-truck comes. Hubby is safe & unfortunately, Baby Ribbon was run over. I told my daughter I would take her to the pony hospital & she’ll get better. I lied, I had to throw baby Ribbon away because she was flat as a pancake. I ended up buying her another one. My husband hasn’t let me live that down. He always reminds me that he could’ve been the same. lol

Oh no! I can only imagine the horror. Sounds like you handled it really well, though.

When I was younger, we got a puppy and she just loved to chew. I also loved to leave my toys lying around everywhere. She got into my box of G3s and was chewing at the magnets! Luckily no puppies were injured but I learned not to leave my stuff scattered around anymore. I saved all of them - I think they could make custom bases if I molded some new hooves for them.

I accidentally cut some pony hair trying to get a package open.

I was careful like always when I open a package. I made sure the pony was at the bottom while I cut from the top. Problem was, the hair was stuck in the tape at the top. Snip snip. You'd never know unless I pointed it out but I know. ^^;

Just like, cautionary tale sellers. It takes 5 seconds to secure a pony in tissue paper lol.

Oh yes, The Mary Jane Munchy. I won’t ever forget either
Omg haha dare I ask what happened with the Mary Jane Munchy? Munched Pony?:surprisepony:
Luckily, someone posted it on this thread so I was able to find it!

My own pony horror story is my first custom. I had read somewhere it was okay to bake a G3 pony in the oven with polymer clay but I forgot to remove the hoof magnet so she melted
The sculpting was pretty decent though
Pictures on my thread about it before I recustomised

Hahaha omg!!! Someone must have slipped a little something into their Munchy pony ironically and forgot :DD haha

Oh nooo!! Im so sorry!! The sculpting was so cool, but she did turn out beautiful in the end. So sweet if you to try and save her!!

The worst condition ive ever had was I bought a ziplock bag of g1 ponies from an antique store to find out they were full of mildew, solid black! Ill have to post pics of the baby firefly, she was the worst.
Worst experience ive ever had with a vintage toy of any kind was a 90s barbie vet playset. I was taking everything out of the box and pulled something out only to realize it was a dead crispy mummified lizard in my bare hand!:eww:

The lizard thing really reminds me of when I was cleaning out a G1 carry case and found a few old insect wings inside of it.

That always surpises me when sellers don't individually wrap ponies. I always bubble wrap mine &then wrap in tissue. I'm always worried them banging around in the box would cause paint chips. At least the cut wasn't noticeable, but I feel you, when you know it's still frustrating !

The worst experience I had was a seller selling me a flutterpony with a huge chunk missing out of her foot, which was not pictured, sucks too because I was told on here because it was a "good deal" it was ok+not a scam tbh it hurt because I just wanted to warn people because if she didn't describe that flaw, why wouldn't she describe others and she had other ponies listed for way more and I just didn't want to have anyone here get ripped off. Really sucked because no matter what the price not describing flaws is wrong. & Deceptive photography as a seller is wrong.

Oh and one time I opened a package and the seller switched out a pony luckily it was a G3 sweetie Belle McDonald's pony for a sweetie Belle G4 which was fine but still& there was literal bugs in G4 raritys hair! Ewwy

Worse experience as a kid was at my 3rd grade birthday party(I'm 26yo so this was in early 2000s) , I had a sleepover party and on my desk I had all my ponies displayed, honestly had played much with them but still did,and I got bullied the whole time to the point I was crying. I ran downstairs and remember putting in the VHS tape the movie with Star Catcher, and it comforted me&made me love MLP even more. My mother hated the girl who started the bullying for years& the girl ended up bullying me again in 8th grade. Terrible person . Screw them though,I'm happy with my toys!

I've had ponies come with haircuts that weren't advertised and positioned in such a way that it wasn't noticeable in their photos. The smokey ones are the worst tho.

It really does suck when your peers mock your interests. I was really into star wars until about 6th grade when some "friends" teased me about relentlessly. It soured my love for it for a long time. Glad I'm old now and don't have to give a flying duck about what people think of my collections.

It’s so horrible when people are mean about your interests even when you’re a kid. It baffles me how kids tease other kids about what toys they play with, they’re kids too and would probably had some toys as well. I always hated things I liked being called “babyish”

When I was in year 1 (5-6 year olds) or year 2 (6-7 year olds), some kids and friends teased about my ponies too. Kids would sing “My Little Pony, skinny and boney” as a joke at first but then ended up being pretty mean. I didn’t like the song at all. I began telling my friends “I don’t like My Little Pony anymore!” to try to stop them. They eventually did stop but I still went home and played with my ponies.

Since primary school I have said “I like what I like, you like what you like” :rolleyespony:

What omg! I hope you got your money back. Poor pony as well, being used in a scam. :( Ive never had something that drastic be wrong with my pony. The worst Ive had is I bought a SweetHeart sister who came with her earring broken and her forelock cut off. The pictures hid it pretty well it looked like her forelock was flat behind her earring since it was turned all the way around so the long part was supposed to be on top of her head. I can fix her but it was a surprise for sure. She also came in a cute baggy but was pressed against a printed out paper densely covered in printed pictures i was scared her bouncing around against it would cause ink smears but luckily not!

Thats awful im so sorry! Kids can be awful :c Especially at a birthday party. They should be ashamed of themselves! I hope as adults theyve grown out of that behavior. :madpony: Im sorry you had to deal with that, @Lilykin And @StormMaeker as well. Im glad we have a safe space here! <3 I dont think I told many people about my ponys growing up, so I dont remember much teasing about ponies but I was bullied over other things. Its a terrible thing. Any kids on here reading this please tell an adult if youre bullied. You wont get in trouble, its best to always tell someone. <3 Youre all amazing and deserve amazing things!

Sad thing is the girl who started it is still a nasty person from what FB shows, very look at me! I'm better! Which is nuts because she is bankrupt morally ,for other reasons I rather not get into . But she was a bully my mom haaaated her lol! Never saw why until adulthood.

& Sadly no I didn't get my money back. It was only lil over 5$ total but that isn't the point I wouldn't have bought it& I'm under the poverty line so it was a big deal to me. The seller took a photo of the bottom of the foot and like I've never bought a flutterpony so I didn't recognize the shape as being wrong, but others on here(won't drag names into it) agreed it was a deceptive photo. Especially since it was like 180-280p quality. Just made me mad because it was such a deceptive photo. All she had to do was take a picture of it from the side and show the foot ....sigh. I can't imagine doing something like that. I even disclose minor paint chips and small small flaws ,even factory flaws ,wish every seller could be the same. Turned me off eBay for awhile. I don't understand ripping someone off.

Nothing is worse either when I seller tells you "it's just ponies" or since I cross collect "it's just dolls"
Well the money I sent you is just real money! Lol

Gosh kids are so mean. Why do kids bully each other for playing with toys!?! Kids are supposed to. Is this newer thing? I'm born in 1995& 26 now and curious if this is newer phenomenon. I mean the age group these are designed for is when I was bullied idgi

Aw crap I was trying to merge my posts and did it wrong. uGH so sorry admin how do I fix? I pressed edit and then post. Am I supposed to press edit and then save? Ugh I'm so sorry I know you guys posted about this recently :(
