The Oscars... does anyone else feel the movie Klaus probably, definitely should’ve won for best animated film? I loved Toy Story 4, but Klaus was so much better visually, effects, technically, they used (and “invented”) a new way to animate textures and layers in traditional animation.
Pixar did this on Toy Story, and TS4 was great had a good story but we’ve seen this before. Klaus was new and exciting to see. I’m so disappointed.
On the flip side, I’m super excited for the creators of Hair Love. I cried watching it and it’s a story I think will resonate with a lot of people. (Although I wish Kitbull could’ve won too.)
This is the first year in forever I’ve actually sat down and watched the Oscars and have been pleasently surprised with the performances and presenters. (I do actually still believe that a lot of it is rigged since the actors literally have to sell and promote films in order to be nominated/win.) I also appreciate the stuff I really care about (animation/music/costuming) were mostly towards the beginning. But I’m in bed before the shows over because I work and it’s late. Lol
