Am I the only wack-a-doo that does this?

So I was going through some G4’s I had set aside to post up for sale, then I noticed a Lyra Heartstrings whose the teeniest tiniest bit different from the one in my collection.

So, naturally I took down my OG one from the collection wall and compared them. (Like any normal sane person would.) And LO AND BEHOLD they were indeed different!

So, did I put her back in the for sale pile? HECK NO! I shoved her right on in next to her mirror twin.
All jokes aside, I find myself doing this with all the gens I collect. For some weird reason, if one of the exact same pony is different in any way I hoard them.

Does anyone else’s do this very strange and unusual behaviour with their collections? Or should I be seeking some kind of (extra) professional help for my obvious problem. :lolpony:

I think you can guess what I'm about to write. Yes, I do this, but only if it's a favourite pony and the difference is interesting enough to me. My bigger issues is always deciding which of my doubles to part with. For example, one has nicer hair, but the other has a perfect body. It's maddening.

I definitely do this! XD For a while, for some G4, I even kept track if there was like... the 'gem' eye (white spot in eye was gem-shaped) or round, coloured tinsel vs clear tinsel... etc. I've recently pared down my collection and weeded out a bunch of those duplicates. ^_^;

Any obvious differences, like the symbol being on the right or left side, I'm keeping, of course. ;3 It's just the "symbol on right side with gem eye", vs "symbol on right side with round eye" that I decided to crack down on. :lolpony:

I think for me if it looks completely different but is the same version then i will keep it. I did the with my g4 nurse pony both really varies from the other pony.

I'm actually pretty stubborn when it comes to having duplicates of any pony! I usually try not to have any two that are the same, but there are some exceptions to what I'll consider "different" enough to keep. Duplicates with molded hair, changes in body type (like unicorn/alicorn Twilight), or Magic Motion capabilities are okay to keep, plus ones that have special meaning. But I'm definitely not someone that purposely gets two of a kind because I love having them all be different!

HELP Why does the Bow Tie on the right have white bows instead of pink? They look white to me, rather than pink ones that faded. Is this a variant? I was just getting her ready for my ebay store but *why arrrr dey white???*
.....and how did she get over there on my shelf??

I had several of the long hair whose bowties were white. I guessed it's fading, but with non fading hair, she was still a different pony and I had to keep her.
