Hey guys! Since the Variant experts are here, I have a few ponies that have tweaked my curiosity and I am hoping you guys might be able to help out...

Variant(???) Lemondrop.
My original Lemondrop (Came with the Show Stable) has "82 Hasbro Pat Pending" on one front hoof and "Hong Kong" on the other. There is nothing on her rear hooves. My (maybe) variant one has "(copyright symbol) 1982 Hasbro" on one front hoof, "Pat Pending" on the second. and on the first rear hoof she has "made in" and "Hong Kong" on the second.
Her body is slightly lighter (brighter???) than the original, her symbols are MUCH darker purple, her hair is slightly darker, but her eyes are either the same or just a shade lighter... It's a bit hard to tell for sure. The plastic she is made of feels slicker as well, I am just wondering if anyone knows anything about her as I sure don't!

I also have a ****e Tootsie, but I thought the White Tootsie was Italian, yet mine says Hong Kong on her hoof, so again, any info would be appreciated!

Last pony that has made me curious... (For now anyway) I have a Mexican Peppermint Crunch, as well as one that I thought was from the general release... She looks pretty much like an original, except that her symbol is NOT pink and white. Her ice cream is a pale, pepper-minty color, (slightly different to her body but not much) with white swirls. It hasn't rubbed, scraped or faded, it is def the original color. She also has "Made in" "Hong Kong" on her two rear hooves and the patent info on her raised front hoof.

I have just bought a factory flawed Posy as well so I am pretty excited about that, she should be here soon... Has perfect symbols on one side but the other is just the stems and leaves, the flowers were never printed.

I have a prototype baby as well, this one has eyes painted but no symbols, no mane, (never had one) and her tail is pretty scraggy but it's there...

SO, these are my curious ponies... Any information about potential value/rarity/who/what these girls are would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks again and have an awesome day.

Lemondrop was made in many batches to go with the Show Stable, so any Lemondrop marked Hong Kong isn't really a "variant" if the definition is a special release limited to a specific country or region.

White Tootsie made in Hong Kong was a common release throughout Europe. Australia & New Zealand got much of the same assortment as the UK & Europe, so it's not surprising to find a white Tootsie in your area.

Can you post pics of your Peppermint Crunch?

Posey's tulips are prone to fading. It's possible they have faded completely from one side. Again, a picture would be great to help determine if she's actually an error or just faded.

Unfinished baby pony - sorry to sound like a broken record, but a picture would be awesome. There are fakies that used original Hasbro molds, as well as certain countries known for having a lot of these unfinished ponies, so a pic is necessary to help identify her. :)

I want to put up pics, but having trouble with Windows 8... It doesn't like my camera...

The biggest difference I find with Lemondrop is the different plastic her body seems to be made of. She looks, well, the only way I can describe it is, shinier. Like her body has been coated with a clear coat or something, and she feels slicker to the touch.

The strokes in her eye paint seem to be maybe bit thicker than normal as well??? She just seemed really different to me.

With Posey, it is def a factory flaw. One side is perfect, her symbols are clear and defined. The other side, not a trace of pink paint anywhere, but the leaves and stems are clear. Her hair is still lovely and pink as well, she is really in great shape!

I think I need to find another shelf for my international ponies now... The collection is growing and it deserves it's own place!

This might help...

I don't know about the first pony but Posy's cutie mark is known to fade in the sunlight. It is very least likely to be a variant as most of my ponies with light pink manes, tails or cutie marks have faded.

For the first pony, probably variant plus, it's body might have faded too. Hope this helped! :satisfied:
