TW--mention of suicidal thoughts
So I've had a year from...well, you know where. I've been very sick and frankly have dealt with serious suicidal thoughts. Fortunately I'm doing much better now, and feel like a normal person again. (Mostly.)
Well, my sister sends me a package, telling me that she knows my year has sucked so far, and that I needed some "pony love." I open up this package, and find on top a beautiful Dancing Butterflies--practically flawless. Then I found a Molasses--who STILL SMELLED GOOD. Her curls were intact and I managed to smooth them down and coax them into beautifulness.
But that doesn't even match what happened next.
There, at the bottom of the box, was a gorgeous, beautiful condition MIMIC. My sister bought me one of the most expensive (at least today) ponies because I'd had a crappy year. It's enough that I still cry thinking about it. I will cherish these ponies forever because it was opening up a box of my sister's love. The next time I'm dealing with suicidal thoughts, you can bet I'm going to get that pony off the shelf as a reminder that I am loved--because she went out of her way to find this pony for me, a pony that I'd never splurge that kind of money on myself because I don't think I'm worth it...but she does. So those will be my three favorite ponies from now on, that is for SURE.
So, now, I'm buying a butt-ton of Rainbow Brite stuff for her as a feeble way to say thank you and return a little bit of that love she shared with me.
NEVER underestimate the power that ponies have, folks. They have the power to remind people that life is worth living because they are loved and cherished. This is going to be an anchor in my mind as to why my life is important--all because my sister bought me a Mimic, because she loves me.
