MLPTP EVENT BLOCK PARTY: Never Have I Ever - PONY EDITION!!

Nope I haven't found a mimic in the wild I live in the middle of the country so there are very little place to look for pony I found very little here the only time I find a lot of pony is when I go to the city
With its an hour a way but if I did I would scrum I found a pony
 
Nope. My Mimic was purchased in a cheap ebay auction many years ago. She has a trim to her mane and tail, but is otherwise perfect. I read about this one gal who has found several. Lucky.

Kinda, sorta - Yes?

I found a huuuuuuuuuge estate sale lot. The sale had images online to show the types of things they were selling at the sale. In these images was one with a bunch of pony and Barbie sets all mixed up and in a tiny spot I spotted a flipping Mimic! So naturally I decided I was up at 5am the next morning to arrive at the sale early.

When I got there you got given a number and you had to go in the house in numerical order. As I was entering the house, a lady (who I now dislike very much) was paying with a HUGE box in her arms. In that box I could see Paradise Estate poking out. I went in searching still in hope she only had the PE thinking it was for dolls. But my efforts lost. I can only assume she got ALL the pony booty there was to be had at this particular sale. I left sad and empty handed, Mom left excited and arms full of new bedding and towels.......

I still longingly look at this house as I drive by it almost daily thinking about the Mimic and Paradise Estate I could of had. :cry:

The people that go to estate sales can be crazy and mean! I went with my dad when I was probably ten-ish and some bitter old lady sneered at me when she thought I was trying to get in front of her. I was just trying not to get separated from my dad.

Yeah. I don’t go often because of the craziness. But I needed that darn pony lol.

You ain't kiddin'! We went to a semi-local one that was posted to a pony Facebook group. Had to take the kids because it was too early for a babysitter.

We were, maybe, fifth in line to get in. All that was there was boxes of common G3s, broken playsets, and one dirty Cotton Candy. This girl came up and pushed my husband and kid out of the way to get to the pony stuff. I didn't find this out until we left or I'd have let her have it then and there, rather than calling her out on a Facebook post that she didn't respond to.

In the end, she paid $100 for the G3s, so whatever. Good deal, I guess, but good luck with that. But she missed the box of the full first set of Fairy Tails with accessories that I found under the table for $10, along with a MIB Ponyville Cheerilee and a G2 air freshener.
 
Okay, I'm not officially playing, as im hosting the game... but I just have to share my Mimic story with you!

I bought her as a kid at a thrift store in a bag of ponies like I did half my collection. This would have been late '80s or early '90s... so not that big a deal as I don't think her value was high then. She has always been a part of my herd.

Then! When I moved to Albuquerque for grad school, I had just recently gotten back into collecting, my husband and I were at a thrift store, I was walking toward the wall of toys. My eyes scanning the bags from afar. And I saw her! Tell tale bright colors! I almost ran the last few feet and let out a small squeal as i snatched the bag off the wall. She looked okay on the outside but appeared to have some mold at the hair plugs.

I bought her for a few dollars, took her home, took her head off, boiled and scrubbed her, and she looked almost mint when I'd finished! I ended up trading her for another high value pony I didn't yet have. Such a fun find!

Since my interest in G4 Merch is minimal, I have not.

I did randomly get a couple of holographic dog tags with an order one time though. It wasn’t even a pony order - I was getting a Knuckles comic and it came with some random free stuff. Which was nice as I wasn’t expecting that at all.

Never. And I likely never will. The only G1 I've found in the wild aside from the retros and repros was a grungy Cotton Candy.
