Hi all! I have a big pony haul coming in and I've got 6 of 30 so far. Ringlets arrived today too! She's in pretty bad condition, I spot removed some marks and gave her a quick wash (ideally I'm waitng until all of my ponies arrive before I give them the spa treatment) and her mane is so badly frazzled. I could try to salvage it and straighten out the frizz, same goes for her tail which is just super coarse to the touch and feels very prickly and straw like.

Ringlets is my first Brush n Grow pony, I understand how they work but I've never owned one til now. Her tail was inside of her body and I cranked her head though nothing happened (it turned very easily but with no effect on the mechanism in the body) so removed her head just to be safe and pulled the tail out that way.

I'm unsure how to go about fixing the mechanism so it works. The head does go back on but isn't totally secure, a little loose, and the body mechanism feels extremely stiff and can't really be rotated in any way. I'm kind of afraid to remove anything to get a closer look because I don't want to break the mechanism and worsen the condition. If you have any advice please let me know, she has such a beautiful long tail and I'd love for her to function as she originally would've!

Also I have a quick few other questions! I also received my first baby today, Baby Half Note (BBE) and I know her eyes were pretty damaged from the seller's photos but they look a lot more daunting in person! Her left eye looks very rusty as does her right with the right having paint scraped from the lid. The whites are totally yellowed too.

And lastly I received a new Cotton Candy and she came with the Tennis Fun/Pony Luv pony wear (without the shoes, visor and racket) and they're very discoloured - how would I go about washing them and getting rid of most of the yellowing? My mum suggested bicarbonate of soda and hand washing. The ribbon is frayed at the edges and I don't want to throw these in the washing machine in case they get destroyed. Any advice would be most welcome! Also I'll be sure to share my complete haul when it arrives! I have some more G1s coming and a bundle of G2s with accessories that I'm super excited to show :lolpony:

So, let’s start with the easier things to deal with.

1) Clothes are usually easiest by hand because they can be very delicate. I would suggest soaking with something like Oxiclean (this will help to lift the dirt and grime off the clothes). Then I hand wash with my regular laundry detergent (I personally use liquid but powder should work as well). Throughly wash with your normal detergent and ensure you full rinse everything out. Then just hang dry or place somewhere flat to dry.

2) BBE baby ponies can be a bit of a pain to clean. If you want to fully clean her eyes you will have to take out the entire mechanism and treat it all for rust. I don’t do that, mostly because I find BBE annoying to put back in. What I usually do (after removing the head from the body to prevent further rusting) is make a paste out of a rust cleaner (I use CLR) and go to town with an old toothbrush and scrub the heck out of that eye. Once the visual effects side is mostly clean, I clean out the inside of the pony’s body and head because if there’s rust in her eyes it will be in her head and body too. Then I will go over the entire pony with dish soap bath and then leave her to dry and put her back together after 48-72 hours of drying.

3) Lastly your brush and grow. So, the reason her head isn’t going back on securely is because there’s a small topper piece that secured the head that likely broke off when you pulled her head off. There’s no getting around that when you take these girls apart. If you shake her head, you’ll probably hear it rattle around in there. Now, you can try and repair it by taking the mechanism out of her head but you will likely have to cut some of the vinyl to get it out. It can be annoying and very frustrating to get out, my last BnG pony took me about 2 hours to get that out of her head. I honestly probably wouldn’t do it again. As for her tail, it looks like you’ll have to re-wind it. The tail mechanism is MUCH easier to pop out of the pony. You just need to gently pull it up. This video might be helpful for this part. Then I would clean, condition the tail you have allow to to fully dry for a few days and the re-insert it and re-hair it into the tail mechanism. As for the head I put a tiny bit of glue from a glue gun at the tip where the piece broke off and he head is much more secured now.

Anyways, I hope this is all helpful, if you have any more questions feel free to ask. I’m around all the time. :)
