Did you even say the name "Harvey" to me?
Back up slowly

Keep our family and my sick mom in your prayers as we deal with this mess of a storm. We need good vibes from pony friends. Mom had her infection drained again. So, she could use some healing vibes as she starts her radiation right in the middle of this Hurricane mess.

Stay safe you guys. Hugs hugs and hugs

So far we still have power, but this mess is just starting for us. We are in phase 2 of the storm now with flooding rains. There are like 70 thousand out of power already. blaaaa

Stay safe

Still doing alright? Did you see the hurricane?

Hi pony peeps, we are still hanging in there. Its been really rough and scary to say the least. So many people here in Houston have lost everything. It is so sad to see entire families with no home and no where to go. The entire city is under water in so many places. It's probably the worst thing I have seen in my life for this city. It will take a while for people to overcome this one. The sad thing is it is not over yet. We still have so much more flooding to go and buckets of rain. I am doing okay. So far our trees are holding, the property itself is flooded in the back until we get a small pocket of rainless moments so it can drain. The streets fill up with water very quickly. There is no water in the house and I still have power. So, We are so blessed let me tell you...so blessed. We realize though that at any moment things could change so we have evacuation bags packed in case we have to leave due to rising water.

Seeing all the news I had to come and see if you were okay, tula. I'm so glad you are. I have one friend whose house is a loss, another who is not reporting in. It's a frightening situation. I hope the flooding will stop soon and leave you be. Please be safe! I love you!

Yes I am okay, it is super nice to see you Bun Bun. It means a great deal to see your post this morning. I am so sorry to hear about your friend. Hugs to you my friend. Sadly in the middle of the night my parents got a mandatory evacuation order because the Brazos River is due to put 8 foot of water or more in their lovely home thru Oyster Creek. They will lose everything. This is tragic for my mother who has a raging infection and cancer. I have no idea if they will be able to get to me since most highways are under water in places and you can't get through. I feel so incredibly sad for my family. Please keep us in your prayers. My mother is just devastated beyond anything you can imagine to loose her home and due to being so ill, she can't move her arm nor can she get things upstairs. I hope they will make it here into Houston, but I have no idea how they will manage it. What we are hoping is that maybe they will say things won't be as bad as they felt they would be last night. I am beside myself in ways but, I realize I have to stay calm or I won't be able to help them. This kind of stress is hard for me.

Oh no! :( Crosses fingers for your parents and friends safety.

I'm hoping it won't come to that.

I'm so sorry, tula. I wish there was some way to get to them to help them evacuate. We're sort of just stuck here, watching the news and hoping for the best. We met a woman in town, buying stacks of bottled water to take down to those in need, Hank helped her load her car to the brim with the water and it all has me sitting here thinking what can we do that would actually help anyone? We're sorta broke, so we couldn't even drive down and get anyone. :( I'm really scared for you all.

I had one of my dream last night, I cant decide what it means but there where people being rescued in a boat during the storm or it was during the later point in the storm.

Hopefully it doesn't come to that for tula. Although, sadly it may already have for others.

Hi guys, I was out of power for a long time. Like since last night and they finally got it up and running. I have been living on the generator. My parents were not able to make it to me. It is kind of dumb to require an evacuation and then not have a way for people who only have cars to evacuate due to high water. Ummmm brains? Anyway, their entire street has stayed home and so far no water has made it into the house. We have two weeks I think for river flood issues, but hopefully soon this rain will be over for Houston. Oh boy I am super tired. I have 6 inches of water in my yard and some flood damage to the garage but I am not worried about it.

@Ology

There have been many many boat rescues all over the city and other Texas areas affected by Harvey. A special wave and thank you for all the people helping with boats and saving many including the armadillo!!!

Wow. I thought they were supposed to assist those who needed help evacuating.

They are that is why I am trying to do a fun tribute here that they will never see probably. I feel better thanking them. I have cried over some of the rescues I have seen on tv. To them though anything struggling in the flood water is worth saving including our wildlife. The Armadillo came to dry land with a bunch of people on a boat. So cute!! Well sort of, they are ugly but they are special to Texas as long as you don't touch one and forget to wash your hands you are in good shape. They carry leprosy. I guess while they were getting those people to land they saw an armadillo as they live in tunnels underground and I am sure many are freaked out right now.

Ah. Sorry tulagirl, I guess I got confused when you said they ordered people to evacuate but didn't help those who didn't have a car? Or maybe I misinterpreted it.

I'm tired and my brain is super useless right now.
